Apology for Raimond de Sebonde – hinnat ja saatavuus

The Apology for Raimond de Sebonde is a philosophical work written by Michel de Montaigne in the 16th century. The book is a defense of the ideas of Raimond de Sebonde, a 15th-century Spanish theologian, who argued that reason alone cannot lead to knowledge of God and that faith is necessary for salvation. Montaigne uses Sebonde's arguments as a starting point to explore his own ideas about the limitations of human knowledge and the nature of belief. He argues that humans are limited in their ability to understand the world and that faith is necessary to fill in the gaps left by reason. The book is divided into two parts. The first part is a translation of Sebonde's work, which Montaigne uses as a basis for his own arguments. The second part is Montaigne's own commentary on Sebonde's ideas. Throughout the book, Montaigne draws on examples from history, literature, and his own experiences to illustrate his points. He also engages with the ideas of other philosophers, including Aristotle and Augustine. The Apology for Raimond de Sebonde is considered one of Montaigne's most important works and is a key text in the development of modern philosophy. It is known for its skeptical approach to knowledge and its exploration of the relationship between faith and reason.
