Beginning with an overview of ultrasound techniques, the following chapters discuss normal foetal anatomy and abnormal signs, providing in depth coverage of the appearance of malformations in different systems of the foetus’ anatomy, including gastrointestinal, urinary, thorax, skeletal and the central nervous system. The next sections discuss the foetal heart, foetal tumours, and assessment of the gestational age and foetal growth. The book concludes with detail on ultrasound of the placenta, umbilical cord, and amniotic fluid; and doppler in obstetrics and ultrasound in labour. Separate chapters are dedicated to twins, basic biometry, and ethics and law in congenital defects. Written by an experienced team of experts from Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, this new edition is highly illustrated with ultrasound images and figures.
