Evolutionary Socialism: A Criticism and Affirmation (1911) – hinnat ja saatavuus

Evolutionary Socialism: A Criticism and Affirmation is a book written by Eduard Bernstein and first published in 1911. The book is a critique of orthodox Marxist theory and a defense of evolutionary socialism. Bernstein argues that the traditional Marxist belief in the inevitability of revolution and the overthrow of capitalism is outdated and unrealistic. Instead, he advocates for a gradual and peaceful transition to socialism through democratic means. Bernstein also critiques the Marxist theory of surplus value, arguing that it fails to account for the role of innovation and technological progress in creating wealth. He believes that the capitalist system can be reformed to better serve the needs of workers and that socialism can be achieved without the need for violent revolution. The book is divided into three parts. The first part provides a historical overview of socialist thought and the development of Marxist theory. The second part offers a critique of Marxist theory, while the third part presents Bernstein's own vision of evolutionary socialism. Overall, Evolutionary Socialism: A Criticism and Affirmation is an important work in the history of socialist thought, offering a nuanced and critical perspective on Marxist theory and advocating for a more pragmatic and democratic approach to achieving socialism.
