In November 2013, Mike McGrath was told that he had stage 4 throat cancer. To say that this startling news came as a complete shock to him was an understatement, because Mike considered himself to be pretty fit and healthy. Apart from a small lump under his left jaw, there had been no sign that anything was wrong.
