ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Yet even so, it brings together a decade of scattered critical interventions--pieces published in various media outlets, as well as lectures, speeches, and book presentations once read aloud long ago. "Many of us consider Mar a Moreno the greatest Argentine chronicler of all time and one of the most lucid documentary voices in the Spanish language--among other reasonable hyperboles." -- Jorge Carri n, The New York Times From the radical futurism of the ever-present Virginia Woolf to the untouched mystery that survives the suicide of Alfonsina Storni. From her love for Chile, expressed in the exalted script of odes to Gabriela Mistral, Pedro Lemebel, and Ra l Zurita. Like Zurita, Mar a Moreno bears witness: "I saw the best minds of my generation..." Ricardo Piglia, Fogwill, and Horacio Gonz lez--some of those minds. Journalistic convention assigns the writing of obituaries to friends or obsessions. Mar a Moreno has rewritten each of these micro-essays, which together in a single volume reaffirm her phenomenal erudition, her indispensable intellectual insolence, and her untamed relevance.
