¿Qué Es El Budismo? / What Is Buddhism?

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION "Claiming the universe is finite is heresy, as it is claiming the universe is infinite; claiming it is not one or the other is also heretic." Buddhism is front and center in Borges' collective works. The perception of cosmos as a labyrinth or a paradox, the denying of the self, questioning the Western conception of time, and the singular notion that the world is fiction and reality a dream, among other ideas, cross the author's essays, short stories, and poems since his earliest works, and they are a particular reformulation, with literary purposes, of some of the central nodes of this doctrine. Written from a series of lectures and first published in 1976, in collaboration with Alicia Jurado, What Is Buddhism? is a fascinating journey through one of the best-known and most-misinterpreted religions in the world, from Buddha's historical origins, to the theories of reincarnation. This is an essential book to complement the meaning of the Borgesian universe.
