Sean had been through enough to know that one tragedy leads to another. Like when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and her expensive treatment caused his parents to declare bankruptcy and lose their cozy Texas home. For a while, the three of them lived out of the family van until Sean's parents sent him to temporarily stay with his aunt and cousin, Zeke, up in Victorvale, Massachusetts. But what Sean didn't know was that the classic seaside town sat on an eroding coastline where houses have fallen into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean to never reappear. Still, when Sean and Zeke spot Donut, a missing local cat, fleeing into one of the abandoned cliffside mansions, they don't hesitate to run after her. Upon discovering Donut's litter of kittens, one of the boys' schoolmates, Jenny, appears and warns them about being in the house. Before they can rescue the little family, the ground rumbles, the cliffside crumbles, and when the dust clears, Sean and Jenny find themselves in the remains of the mansion, sandwiched between the ocean and a sheer wall of rock. What's worse--Zeke is trapped below them... or so they thought. Now, they must escape before the cold water--and whatever lives within it--reaches them.
