The Royal English Dictionary, or, A Treasury of the English Language – hinnat ja saatavuus

"The Royal English Dictionary, or, A Treasury of the English Language" by Daniel Fenning, first published in 1771, offers a fascinating glimpse into the English language as it was understood and used in the late 18th century. This comprehensive dictionary aimed to provide a full explanation of terms used across a wide range of subjects, from algebra and anatomy to heraldry and military tactics. More than a mere word list, Fenning's work sought to capture the nuances and evolving meanings of words, reflecting the intellectual and cultural landscape of his time. As a historical artifact, this dictionary provides valuable insights into the development of the English language and the diverse fields of knowledge that shaped its vocabulary.
