Scriptural Holiness and Keswick Teaching Compared
In this book Dr. Hills first states with great clearness the position of those who-along with men of earlier times, such as George Fox the sanctified Quaker, John Fletcher the saintly Church of England clergyman, John Wesley the great founder of Methodism, and many others-stand for the cleansing of the heart from all sin through the baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. Then he examines the Keswick position, ascertained by the careful perusal of numerous reports of addresses delivered at Keswick and seeks to point out with great fairness the flaws in this position. This comparison of Keswick teaching with scriptural holiness is made in the spirit of brotherly love. Its sole object is to clear away difficulties and errors and help souls into a better experience than the teaching of the "counteraction of sin" usually leads them to.

THIS SCHMUL PUBLISHING CO. EDITION IS NOT A SCANNED FACSIMILE OF A USED BOOK. It has been carefully typeset and proofread for accuracy and for easier reading by today's readers. Consequently there are no odd characters or missing text. Life That is the main theme of A. M. Hills throughout this book. The author's ministry was wide, and his chief influence was as a scholar-evangelist in the holiness movement. At the time of publication of "Dying to Live" he was the president of Texas Holiness University near Greenville, Texas (later merged into what became known for many years as Bethany Nazarene College). The book came about largely through the urging of W. B. Godbey, who heard Hills preach at the Revivalist camp at Cincinnati. Hills holds forth a wide view of the Christian life, but primarily he spotlights the need of heart holiness in order to truly live. He discusses the hopeless state of the unconverted, and shows the way to salvation through the blood of Jesus. He warns against resisting the Holy Spirit, and holds up the great gift of entire sanctification, proclaiming that "death to self" is the prerequisite to victorious living. It is a message that is still as viable in our day as it was in his.

Homiletics and Pastoral Theology is a comprehensive guidebook written by A. M. Hills for aspiring pastors and preachers. The book is divided into two parts: the first part focuses on homiletics, which is the art of preaching and sermon preparation, while the second part focuses on pastoral theology, which is the study of the duties and responsibilities of a pastor. In the first part, Hills offers practical advice on how to prepare and deliver sermons effectively. He covers topics such as selecting a text, outlining the sermon, using illustrations, and delivering the message with conviction. He also provides guidance on how to engage the audience and handle difficult situations such as interruptions or distractions during the sermon. The second part of the book delves into the various aspects of pastoral ministry, including counseling, visitation, evangelism, and leadership. Hills emphasizes the importance of developing a close relationship with God and relying on Him for guidance and strength. He also stresses the need for pastors to be compassionate and understanding towards their congregants, and to be aware of the unique challenges and struggles that they may face. Overall, Homiletics and Pastoral Theology is a valuable resource for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in ministry or improving their preaching and pastoral skills. It provides practical guidance and biblical wisdom that can help pastors and preachers to effectively minister to their congregations and make a positive impact in their communities.
