This book provides, as simply as possible, sound foundations for an in-depth understanding of reliability engineering with regard to qualitative analysis, modelling, and probabilistic calculations of safety and production systems. Drawing on the authors’ extensive experience within the field of reliability engineering, it addresses and discusses a variety of topics, including: • Background and overview of safety and dependability studies; • Explanation and critical analysis of definitions related to core concepts; • Risk identification through qualitative approaches (preliminary hazard analysis, HAZOP, FMECA, etc.); • Modelling of industrial systems through static (fault tree, reliability block diagram), sequential (cause-consequence diagrams, event trees, LOPA, bowtie), and dynamic (Markov graphs, Petri nets) approaches; • Probabilistic calculations through state-of-the-art analytical or Monte Carlo simulation techniques; • Analysis, modelling, and calculations of common cause failure and uncertainties; • Linkages and combinations between the various modelling and calculation approaches; • Reliability data collection and standardization. Two years ago my partner Alain Leroy and I were sitting in our favourite country pub, Irby Mill on the Wirral, having a drink, when the germ of an idea hit us to write a book together - a comedy that will make you laugh from beginning to end..... Bruce Cooper, a Londoner now living in the Midlands, is married to Patty. They have two children; twins Bobby and Charlene. Bruce has worked in a metal factory for fifteen years and is now faced with redundancy. He has a choice of staying with the factory under new management and accepting a cut in salary or taking a redundancy pay-off. There is no prospect of other work in his area. He buys a scratch card on the way home and gives it to his wife. They have won four million pounds. Even though Brexit is on the doorstep Patty decides to make a new life in Spain. But they get more than they bargain for. The house they buy is right in the middle of a Russian community - and they're not ordinary Russians.

The objective of the book is to provide all the elements to evaluate the performance of production availability and reliability of a system, to integrate them and to manage them in its life cycle. By the examples provided (case studies) the main target audience is that of the petroleum industries (where I spent most of my professional years). Although the greatest rigor is applied in the presentation, and justification, concepts, methods and data this book is geared towards the user.

Hello readers, and welcome to my new magazine. It's an exciting brand-new project that I hope you will enjoy. Writing about Rock'n'Roll through to Rockabilly and Country is not new to me however; my first article was an interview I did way back in 1996, later published in Crazy Bear magazine. From there I wrote for several others and finally ended up writing for the French magazine Rock & Roll Revue until it ceased operation. Instead of putting my pen and notebook back in the drawer, my partner Judith (Page) and I decided to create our own music journal. Our idea didn't stop at one magazine, but two versions; one in French and this one in English. The next thing I needed was a team - an Anglo-French one. For the French version I work with Eric Galland, and on the English side I work with Judith and Paul F Newman. My team have other lives; my partner Judith is an author of over a dozen books, and Paul is also a published author and an authority on cosmic astrology. This issue will include an interview with Freddie 'Boy' Burns, articles on singers: George Jones, Johnny Bond, Sheb Wooley, Kid Thomas and Eddie Noack. There's also a superb article on Mahalia Jackson by Judith, and another by Paul who will have his own unique page highlighting 'the story of a song'. It's an amazing experience having to write the majority of articles and editing a magazine in the two languages French and English. The common language in both is 'music', and inside these pages you can read about Country Music, Hillbilly, Blues, Country Boogie, Rock'n'Roll, and the joy of all... Rockabilly. The name for the magazine I've chosen is 'Juke Box Boogie', a tribute to my old friend Freddie Burns, who sadly died in 2015 at the age of 102. This first issue of Juke Box Boogie is dedicated to the late Bernard Boyat. We, the team salute you. You were a giant and the voice and life of Rock'n'Roll.

Olivia Robertson was an extraordinary woman, born as the Great War was coming into its final year. To know her was a Janus-like experience, where one was looking back into the Edwardian and Victorian times of her parents, and forward into a future to a world of modern architecture, equality for all, and the return of the Goddess and respect for the arts. In this centenary year of her birth, several of her friends look at her work, as an artist, author, and esotericist, as a tribute to this remarkable character of enormous intellect and wit. She was of the Anglo-Irish Ascendency, and loved to travel the world on a mission to restore the goddesses of antiquity to the modern age, to which she was totally committed. All who met her were touched by her unique gifts.
