In these rigorous and challenging essays, writers from Aotearoa and Turtle Island (Canada and the United States of America) explore the well-being of takatapui, two-spirit, and Maori and Indigenous LGBTQI+ communities. Themes include resistance, reclamation, empowerment, transformation and healing. Central to Honouring Our Ancestors is the knowledge that, before colonisation, Indigenous peoples had their own healthy understandings of gender, sexual identities and sexuality. Some of these understandings have survived the onslaught of colonisation; others require decolonisation so that our Indigenous nations can begin to heal. Through this lens, the writers gathered here contribute their knowledge and experience of structural and social change. This collection was inspired by two major research projects: the HONOR Project, which investigated well-being in American Indian and Alaskan Native two-spirit communities, and the Honour Project Aotearoa, which investigated Kaupapa Maori strengths-based understandings of the health and well-being of takatapui and Maori LGBTQI+ communities. Edited by Alison Green and Leonie Pihama, Honouring Our Ancestors upholds the independent authorities and languages that distinguish our Indigenous nations and celebrates the relationships that bind us. Decolonised Indigenous knowledges are offered as a wellspring of unlimited potential for Indigenous communities and nations everywhere.

Hidden, that is what I had become. I have always hidden myself from the time I realized I was a human being, a person, a little girl, and now an adult. I never wanted to be seen. I was looked at as a shy girl. I always felt alone, although I wasn't. At times, I feel like I am still that little girl who wants to be hidden. Even today, as I write, I sometimes feel the aloneness creeping up on me. Believe me, I like being left alone and being by myself most of the time, but there is a difference when you are alone and lonely inside. The struggle for me was REAL. According to Webster's dictionary, hidden means concealed; not visible; not easy to find; or being out of sight. That's it The words "not visible" kind of hit me. Not visible pretty much sounded like me in a nutshell. Let me tell you why: I could be in a room full of people, and I felt like my family or friends did not see me. I felt like I was not being heard when I spoke, or I was being spoken over. Maybe it was because I was just soft-spoken, and people didn't hear me. Nah, I can talk pretty loudly if I want to. If you know my family and me, we talk loud when together, so it couldn't have been because of that.

An increasing proportion of exhibitions are curated by artists rather than professional curators. In this ground-breaking book Alison Green provides the first critical history of visual artists curating exhibitions. The artist emerges as someone who carries a special responsibility for critiquing art’s institutions, brings considerable creativity to the craft of making exhibitions and, through experimentation, has changed the way exhibitions are understood to be authored and experienced. But this book also establishes a curious ubiquity to the artist-curated exhibition. Rather than being exceptional or rare, artists curate all the time and in all kinds of places: in galleries and in museums, in studios, in borrowed spaces such as shopfronts or industrial buildings, in front rooms and front windows, in zoos or concert halls, on streets and in nature. Seen from the perspective of artists, showing is a part of making art. Once this idea is understood, the history of art starts to look very different. With extensive explorations of well-known artists such as Daniel Buren, Goshka Macuga, Thomas Hirschhorn, Rosemarie Trockel, Hito Steyerl, Andy Warhol and Félix González-Torres, this book will change the way readers think about and look at exhibitions.

Starting with the vision set out in A Theology of Women's Priesthood for a priesthood of both sexes working in partnership, Alison Green looks at how a theology built on sexual difference manifests itself in the life and ministry of practising priests and those to whom they minister. Following the Introduction, the succeeding chapters are largely made up of case studies and histories gathered in England and Wales, and also from New Zealand and other provinces in the Anglican Communion.

Ali Green offers a theology of women's priesthood from a Christian feminist perspective. She suggests a feminist reconfiguration of the Eucharistic Prayer and demonstrates how the symbolism of the liturgy allows for new interpretation informed by women's experience. She gives new insights into liturgical symbolism and the sacramental significance of the woman priest. "Ali Green opens up new frontiers in the debate about the theology and significance of women's ordination." Professor Tina Beattie, Roehampton University.

Verbal protocol analysis (VPA) is a methodology that is being used extensively by researchers. Recently, individuals working in the area of testing, and in language testing in particular, have begun to appreciate the roles VPA might play in the development and evaluation of assessment instruments. VPA is a complex methodology however, and individuals choosing to use the technique require some degree of training in order to maximize the benefits in adopting this approach, and in order to avoid some of the more common misunderstandings and pitfalls associated with the use of verbal data. Usiing Verbal Protocols in Language Test Validation aims to provide potential practitioners with the background to the technique and a good understanding of what is entailed in using VPA in the specific context of language testing and assessment. Tutorial exercises are presented which enable the reader to try out each of the different steps involved in VPA.
