In this final book of his 'Women God Moved' series, Andy looks at some of the doors that God may open for His women: Deborah: Leading (Judg.4:8,9; 5:15); Ruth: Subjecting (Ruth 3:1-7); Abigail: Advising (1 Sam.25:23-31); Shallum's daughters: Building (Neh.3:12); Phoebe: Protecting (Rom.16:1,2); Tryphena & Tryphosa: Labouring (Rom.16:12); Euodia & Syntyche: Witnessing (Phil.4:2,3) These seven examples, plus women like Sarah, Mary and Priscilla, combine to show what God thinks of His women. They are Women of His worth, Women of His Word, and Women of His Work, and consecrated women are all three Along with these, by His help, they can learn to appreciate and appropriate their femininity, their womanhood, and, as Psalm 128:3 so beautifully points out, their motherhood too: "Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around your table." Each chapter concludes with questions that make this book ideal for a rewarding individual or group Bible study.
In this second book of the "Women God Moved" series, Bible teacher Andy McIlree explores the often neglected Song of Songs. Some question whether it should be in the Bible at all, while many have struggled to understand the purpose of its poetic imagery. But there's no need to be afraid of this very human and very devotional book, that has been described by one Jewish rabbi as the holiest of all of Israel's scriptures. It's a sequence of love letters between a young couple, expressed in words and behaviour that would have been so meaningful to them, although they may at first seem peculiar to us today. Andy invites us to allow its language to first of all lift our thoughts to see God being exalted in His relationship with His people, Israel; these eight chapters is displayed the supremacy of God, clothed in His fervency and intimacy - and even under Law, His working with His people had much grace blended with it. Then, on another level, His Spirit can exalt His Son as we draw lessons that relate to our walk with Him. God has included this Song in His Word for our good, so that He may share with us something from "the exceeding riches of His grace in his kindness toward us in Christ." May we allow the Holy Spirit to interpret and apply the beauties of this allegory richly to our Christian lives, until truths become evident that will shape the course of our spiritual will and our discipleship walk.
Andy's last series looked at some, Peter, Jude and Boaz, who can be described as 'Men God Moved, ' and were stirred and carried along by the Holy Spirit to fulfil God's purpose. In this new series, Andy looks at 'Women God Moved', to see how He also used them: some, by their godly example; others, because of the imagery conveyed by the place they occupy in His Word. Along with everything God wants us to gain from this study, Christian women should be assured that He never devalues them. To prove this, He has used a series of Bible brides to occupy very special places in His purpose, and emphasise that He elevates them to the highest possible level by using them as examples of what He calls "the bride, the Lamb's wife." Andy begins in Genesis and continue in the Books of the Law, before flowing on through the Psalms and the Prophets - and looks at Eve, Rebekah, Israel, the Shulamite, Ruth and more. At the outset, Andy acknowledges that we have the right to explore the Word, but clear pictures will not emerge unless we give the Lord the right to explain. When He does, the effect on us ought to mirror how the two from Emmaus felt when they asked, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" May ours be the same

Ephesians is a clear presentation by the apostle Paul of foundational Christian truths - basic Christianity. It's a comprehensive, clear, practical and beautiful presentation of who we are; how we came to be what we are, what we shall be, and how we should live now in the light of that destiny The epistle outlines: - what God has done for us and what God expects from us- Christian privilege and Christian responsibility- the position of the believer and the practice of the disciple- the doctrine of faith and the practice of faith The first set of each of these couplets deals with matters of doctrine, theology and privilege, and is found in Ephesians chapters 1-3. The second set deals with matters of practice and responsibility, and is found in Ephesians chapters 4-6. This helpful study guide to Ephesians takes 13 modules to explore each section of the book, with thought-provoking questions following an insightful commentary. An appendix deals with some relevant topics, including God's sovereignty, prayer and the important difference between the Church of God and the Church the Body of Christ. Ideal for group or personal study.

BOOK 1 - GRACE IN 1 PETER: "Tracing the grace of God in Peter's first letter is like seeing the glory of God in Romans and the greatness of God in Hebrews." In this deeply practical book, Andy takes us through each of Peter the rough fisherman's 5 chapters, and introduces us to the manifold grace of God expressed in at least 11 different aspects:1. GRACE REQUIRED IN AN UNGRACIOUS MAN; 2. GRACE RESTORED IN OUR MISTAKES; 3. GRACE RECEIVED IN THE GOSPEL; 4. GRACE REGARDED IN WORSHIP AND WITNESS; 5. GRACE REINFORCED IN TRIALS; 6. GRACE RECIPROCATED IN MARRIAGE; 7. GRACE RECOGNISED IN HOLINESS; 8. GRACE REVEALED IN SPIRITUAL GIFTS; 9. GRACE REFLECTED IN LEADERSHIP; 10. GRACE REGAINED IN BIBLICAL TRUTH; 11. GRACE RE-EMPHASISED IN PAUL'S LETTERS; BOOK 2: THE APOSTLE JUDE's TRIPOD - The apostle Jude's little letter can easily be read within five minutes, yet it spans eternity past and future, history and prophecy, blessing and judgment, past revelation and fresh revelation, things known and not known, heaven's glory and hell's grief. And, like all Scripture, it has a God-given relevance for us in the present day: * for reproof - showing when we are off track * for correction - helping us to get back on track* for instruction - enabling us to keep on track. As Jude wrote his little book, it's as if he did so with the mindset of a surveyor, scanning the worrying spiritual landscape in front of him - 19 times in his short letter, Jude moves his surveyor's 'tripod' of threes to drive his point home. In addition to exploring each of these, Bible teacher Andy McIlree unpacks each verse across seven key themes of Salutation, Salvation, Contention, Condemnation, Revelation, Benediction and Doxology. This is a very enlightening and practical study of a little understood, under-appreciated and often forgotten part of our New Testament. BOOK 3: BOAZ - RUTH'S BRIDEGROOM, REDEEMER AND LORD OF THE HARVEST: "The events of the book of Ruth are like a jewelled cameo woven into the fabric of Israel's chequered background. The account of Ruth's arrival on the pages of God's Word is an interweaving of His grace, His call - so typical of His reaching out to Abraham, Rahab, and to Gentiles - and His purpose. So, during Israel's dull days, she is like a colourful butterfly emerging from a very drab chrysalis. There is no shallow end to the story of Ruth, as depths of despair at the beginning lead on to deepening delight, which causes us to exclaim, "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out "Join Bible teacher Andy McIlree in this heart-warming study as, chapter by chapter, he explores the depths of this wonderful Old Testament book, and in particular how Boaz is a picture of the Lord Jesus as our kinsman-redeemer, bridegroom and the Lord of the harvest.

The apostle Jude's little letter can easily be read within five minutes, yet it spans eternity past and future, history and prophecy, blessing and judgment, past revelation and fresh revelation, things known and not known, heaven's glory and hell's grief. This is a very enlightening and practical study of a little understood, under-appreciated and often forgotten part of our New Testament." There is inescapable evidence, and no room for doubt, that a great work of God was done in the hearts of Mary and Joseph's four sons - James, Joses, Simon, and Judas - during the forty days between Calvary and being included in the one hundred and twenty who gathered in Acts 1:14-15 to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit. How and when the change took place, we don't know, but change they most certainly did. Perhaps, somewhere in the darkness of Calvary's cross, they felt their own darkness; perhaps, during the earthquake, they also were shaken; and perhaps, when the tombs were opened, they began to sense their own spiritual awakening. What we do know is that the Lord Jesus Christ was seen after His resurrection "by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once" and "After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles." The exalted Christ had come into their lives in a wonderful fulfilment of the ark's covenant blessing. There was no familiarity in his opening remark. He could easily have said, "Jude, a brother of Jesus Christ and bondservant with James," but, like James in his letter, he owned the Lordship of the One they formerly spoke against and their transformation as servants of the King. James called Him "our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory"21 - or, more accurately by removing the words in italics, "our Lord Jesus Christ of the glory." By saying this, James was not only convinced of the glory of the place from which his Saviour had come, and to which He had returned, he was thinking of the glory of the Person and of how that glory should radiate through "the faith" that we hold. It was this that Jude made his aim by describing his servanthood with the Greek word doulos ... the Spirit of God attached the word doulos to Jude to speak of one who is tied to the task like a slave and not loosed without his master's permission." CHAPTER ONE: SALUTATION
