The Irregulars - A Complete Collection of the Baker Street Irregulars Stories
This volume contains the collected stories of the Baker Street Irregulars, a group of London street urchins hired by the great detective Sherlock Holmes to aid him with his investigations. Famed for being able to hear all the streets have to tell and described by Holmes as "The Baker Street division of the detective police force", the boys, led by their leader, Wiggins, collect vital information from the underbelly of Victorian London. Contents include: 'A Study in Scarlet' (1887), The Sign of Four' (1890), and 'The Crooked Man' (1893). A must-read for anyone who is a fan of Doyle's famous detective novels or the BBC series 'The Irregulars'. Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 - 1930) was a British writer, famous for his character 'Sherlock Holmes'. Whilst studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh, Doyle began writing short stories, and his first piece was published before he was 20. In 1887, Conan Doyle's first significant work, 'A Study in Scarlet', appeared in Beeton's Christmas Annual. It featured the first appearance of the detective Sherlock Holmes. A prolific writer, Conan Doyle continued to produce a range of fictional works over the following years and is still being referenced today.

A new edition of Arthur Conan-Doyle's classic account of the Second Anglo-Boer War, originally published in 1901. Now completely reset and updated with 194 new footnotes explaining terms, personalities, and events to the present-day reader, in addition to all 19 original footnotes by the author. This edition also benefits from three appendices detailing total military casualties on both sides; a short review of the Boer prisoner of war camps in the Caribbean, the island of St. Helena, Ceylon and India; and finally, a comprehensive overview of the British concentration camps and their effect upon the Boer population. Lavishly illustrated with 91 rare photographs, Conan-Doyle's work remains the standard by which all other accounts of the conflict are measured. Compiled by the author while serving as a medical doctor in Bloemfontein, the book starts by covering the origin of the Boer republics, and their dealings with the British and other emigrants on the Rand which laid the foundation of the casus belli. From there it moves onto a fast-moving and factual account of the various battles and campaigns which saw initial British defeats turned into rapid advances into the Boer heartlands. The expected Boer surrender then never materialised, and the conflict devolved into a hard-fought guerrilla war which saw nearly twice as many British troops deployed into the Boer republics as the latter's entire population: men, women, and children combined. A riveting story which has lost none of its drama in the past century, and whose reverberations can still be felt to the present day. This special anniversary edition is lavishly illustrated with 91 rare photographs and two maps.

First published in Strand Magazine in 1912, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World explored the idea that prehistoric life might still exist in unexplored areas of the globe. Part science fiction, part adventure story, the novel marks a significant shift in Doyle's writing, as he temporarily put aside the famous Sherlock Holmes to introduce professor Challenger, a physical, rude, bear-like man who would feature in several subsequent works.

British writer Arthur Conan Doyle was much more than the creator of the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. He was also a Christian spiritualist with a profound belief in immortality and a keen knowledge of ancient mysticism. In his enduring nonfiction work The New Revelation he provides proof for life after death and communication with the dead, a message that offers hope and consolation to all those who have lost loved ones, or who want to know what happens after so-called "death." In this attractive Sea Raven Press reprint of the classic 1918 book, Conan Doyle discusses his journey from sceptic to believer, citing scientific experiments and studies, as well as his own personal experiences, all adding up to irrefutable evidence that human consciousness survives the death of the physical body. After years of communicating with the "dead," Conan Doyle sifts through his findings, concluding that we live on for eternity in a luminous pain-free world of beautiful light, complete freedom, and unconditional love, surrounded by family members, friends, and kindred spirits. Edited by award-winning historian and Bible authority Lochlainn Seabrook - the author and editor of over 70 books - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The New Revelation includes four chapters, supplementary documents, a preface by the author, and an introduction by the editor. As with all our reprints, not one word has been added to or subtracted from the original text. This book is available in paperback and hardcover.

A Study in Scarlet (Royal Collector's Edition) (Case Laminate Hardcover with Jacket)
A Study in Scarlet is the first story to feature Sherlock Holmes, and the first work of fiction to incorporate the magnifying glass as a detective tool. The story opens with Holmes and Watson meeting each other for the first time, and their decision to become flat-mates at 221b Baker Street. Soon they are involved in a murder-mystery involving kidnapping, enslavement and revenge that will test the limits of Holmes' skills and establish a life-long relationship with Watson. Sherlock Holmes is famous for his intellectual prowess and is renowned for his skilful use of deductive reasoning, astute observation, and forensic skills to solve difficult cases. Deductive reasoning allows Holmes to impressively reveal a stranger's occupation. Similarly, by studying inanimate objects, he is able to make astonishingly detailed deductions about their owners. This mindset was a major innovation in the field of crime fiction, inspiring authors like Robert J. Sawyer, Neil Gaiman and Stephen King. This case laminate collector's edition includes a Victorian inspired dust-jacket.
