This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING

Arthur Conan Doyle discusses how the spiritualism movement began and grew, and how he himself came to believe that talking with the spirits of the deceased was possible. The core tenet of spiritualism is the belief that the spirits of the deceased can communicate with the living. In order to establish contact, a person can attend a seance, or privately consult the services of a spiritualist medium. Mediums are persons deemed consistently able to attain communication with spirits, and receive messages from the spirit realm. Doyle's history recounts a number of incidents and people pertaining to spiritualism, and the growth of interest over the years. Many of the events date to the 19th and early 20th centuries, and Doyle quotes various testimonies in support of spirit manifestations. The behaviors and messages of spirits are described, while the author's own personal journey toward adherence is likewise alluded to.

This book contains reproductions of the famous Cottingley fairies together with a detailed analysis of their authenticity by British writer Author Conan Doyle. The Cottingley fairies were a series of five photographs taken by two young cousins who resided in Cottingley, near Bradford in England. The photographs purportedly captured images of fairies, and gained widespread attention at the time. They were later admitted to be fakes by the girls-except one, which Frances maintained was in fact real and the inspiration or the forgeries. Contents include: "How The Matter Arose", "The First Published Account--'Strand' Christmas Number, 1920", "Reception Of The First Photographs", "The Second Series", "Observations Of A Clairvoyant In The Cottingley Glen, August 1921", "Independent Evidence For Fairies", "Some Subsequent Cases", "The Theosophic View Of Fairies", etc. Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle (1859 - 1930) was a British writer most famous for his detective novels that feature Sherlock Holmes. Other notable works by this author include: "The Mystery of Cloomber" (1888) and "Sir Nigel" (1906). Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with the original text and artwork.
"The Return of Sherlock Holmes" is a collection of thirteen detective stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous literary creation, Sherlock Holmes. These tales originally appeared in magazines in 1903 and 1904 and were published together as a collection in 1905. Doyle had stopped writing Sherlock Holmes stories after 1893, when Holmes appeared to have died in "The Final Problem". However, the public continued to press Doyle for more tales of his most famous character, especially after the publication of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" in 1902, which was set before Holmes' apparent death. Contained within this collection are some of Doyle's own personal favorites of all the Holmes' stories, such as "The Adventure of the Empty House", which addresses the mystery of how Holmes had escaped death at the hands of the diabolical Professor Moriarty, "The Adventure of the Dancing Men", the detective's heart-pounding race to solve a mysterious code and save his client's life, and "The Adventure of the Priory School", the strange disappearance of a young heir from school and the mystery of a murdered teacher. This collection is a must-read for all Sherlock Holmes fans. This edition is printed on premium acid-free paper.
