I cambiamenti nella cavit orale permettono ai medici di rilevarli e quindi la malattia pu essere trattata efficacemente nella sua fase iniziale. Se il cancro orale viene individuato inizialmente, le possibilit di sopravvivenza migliorano notevolmente rispetto a molti altri tipi di cancro. Purtroppo, per , il tasso di sopravvivenza a cinque anni per il cancro orale molto basso tra tutti i tumori. Gli scarsi tassi di sopravvivenza indicano che la maggior parte delle lesioni cancerose del cavo orale viene individuata solo nell'ultimo stadio, ma non in quello iniziale, quando la prognosi potrebbe essere negativa. L'obiettivo generale del presente studio quello di valutare le conoscenze, l'opinione e la pratica dei dentisti nei confronti della prevenzione e della diagnosi precoce del cancro orale e di individuare le aree in cui l'educazione e la formazione devono essere enfatizzate.

L'objectif g n ral de cette tude est d' valuer les connaissances, les opinions et les pratiques des dentistes en mati re de pr vention et de d tection pr coce du cancer de la bouche et de d terminer les domaines dans lesquels l' ducation et la formation doivent tre renforc es.
