Riverfront development blends water into urban landscapes, spanning townships, neighborhoods, and commercial zones near water bodies. It's anchored by four pillars: heritage preservation, functionality enhancement, social well-being promotion, and aesthetic appeal. Regulatory compliance, entrepreneurship encouragement, funding procurement, and historical context preservation are pivotal. Since the 1960s, urban waterfront revitalization has surged, bridging public-private and commercial-residential sectors. Waterfronts are vital connectors for public-private, business, and residential sectors, serving as hubs for tourism and recreation, linking commercial and residential zones. This study explores riverfront development's potential to revitalize urban areas, creating vibrant public spaces and stimulating local economies. Success relies on stakeholder understanding, avoiding past pitfalls, and addressing various factors. The study proposes a global review, focusing on design and planning, identifying success factors, addressing challenges, and formulating guidelines guided by a comprehensive development framework.

The thesis presents a systematic study of the Mpemba effect in a colloidal system with a micron-sized particle diffusing in a water bath. While the Mpemba effect, where a system’s thermal relaxation time is a non-monotonic function of the initial temperature, has been observed in water since Aristotle’s era, the underlying mechanism of the effect is still unknown. Recent studies indicate that the effect is not limited to water and has been studied both experimentally and numerically in a wide variety of systems. By carefully designing a double-well potential using feedback-based optical tweezers, the author demonstrates that an initially hot system can sometimes cool faster than an initially warm system. The author also presents the first observation in any system of another counterintuitive effect—the inverse Mpemba effect—where the colder of the two samples reaches the thermal equilibrium at a hot temperature first. The results for both the observations agree with theoretical predictions based on the Fokker-Planck equation. The experiments reveal that, for carefully chosen conditions, a strong version of both of the effects are observed where a system can relax to the bath temperature exponentially faster than under typical conditions.

Position of Dalit Women in 21st Century Rural India
The Indian society is deeply rooted with the practices of patriarchy and caste inequality. Hence, the women from the lowest strata of the society i.e. the dalit women (lower caste women) are the worst hit of the said practices. They have been suffering due to them being women and additionally because of their caste identity. The oppression have been observable in their expoitation and lack of opportunity to the basic of the necessities. The paper aims towards such lack of opportunities in the field of education, and economic freedom. The two are the most important aspects considered for one to live a decent life and lack of which leads to much inequality. As majority of the Indian population resides in rural parts, hence the study is focused on the same. The results reflect the picture of true India.
