Ayo Gutierrez

A book that talks about life, how to live, avoid regrets and procrastination. Obtaining success, happiness, wealth and any other good thing is possible for those who make them so. In the movie, "The Secret" we can learn that the universe favors speed. Hence, if you have raw ideas now, start gathering the tools you need to create something. The goal is creation, not yet perfection. What's important is you get started today. It makes perfect sense to ponder on this question: What if today is really my last day on earth? Do not postpone. Do not hinder the process. Do not speculate. Act now. Time is our greatest ally. Remember, Almost is always tantamount to Never. Ayo Gutierrez

A collection of poetry by the Poetry Cartel.

Evocare (i-wu-ka-re), from its Latin meaning '"to summon", brings together the art of three poets through an anthology of tanka. Ayo, Brian, and Eileen inspire our minds to ponder upon what our five senses encounter in our journey of reading their evocative words, an experience that translates words into timeless poems about living.

Poets from around the world come together to speak for world peace. Prose is the elegant recording of words to create stories that convey setting, characters, plot and climax. Poetry, especially in the case of Yearnings, is the translation of emotion into words. This collection is unyielding in its examination of the emotions in people, often from the perspective of modern women. Ayo Gutierrez is an expert of poetic irony, meaning we are able to read about things that are seldom spoken. Her subjects range from religion to child birth to inter- and extra-personal relationships. Gutierrez's attention to detail in her writings enables us, the readers, to develop a greater understanding of the issues she captures. She brings us into the midst of a subject and wraps our minds in the comfort of her words, allowing us to steep in her perspective, disappearing with our evolution. Gutierrez does not offer up traditional formats in her poetry. You will not find sonnets nor iambic pentameter; rather, you will find heightened, sometimes disjointed, free-form poetry that bites and caresses. Instead of works about the beauty of rainbows, you will read about the intense, complex molecules inside that rainbow.
