Oklahoma has long been recognized for its premier career-tech education system. The difference between Oklahoma's system and those in other states is its unique form of governance and funding not found anywhere else in the country. To make this visionary system possible an amendment to the Oklahoma constitution was required. Amending Oklahoma's constitution was not an easy task and required support from both republicans and democrats, the governor, both houses of the legislature, the public and private sectors as well as the media. Such bipartisan cooperation seems unrealistic in today's polarized political climate, but it happened in 1966 because of the courageous and unselfish leadership of a few outstanding Oklahomans who had a vision of how their state could accomplish something in education that would be the envy of the nation. All the stars had to align themselves in just the right way to make it possible. This is how it happened.

Susan Surman's online writing class began as a way to answer the literary desires of many Covid cloistered authors. The class became so successful that the participants gathered their pieces into one marvelous volume that promises to be only the first of many.

The collected hard-boiled cases of nursery rhyme-noir with Detective Harry Pigg. Harry Pigg, the only surviving brother from the Big Bad Wolf attacks, has set up business as a private detective in Grimmtown, only things aren't going too well. Down on his luck, with bills to pay and no clients in sight the outlook is poor. But when your next customers are going to include local businessman Aladdin, the wife of Father Christmas and Little Miss Muffet, what follows is a hard-boiled casebook of nursery rhyme-noir - full of fairy tale villains, plenty of red herrings, a few close shaves, a couple of punch ups and some very clever twists indeed. Funny, thrilling and always entertaining, Harry Pigg is an old breed of hero for a new generation. The Third Pig Detective Agency series has been acclaimed by readers, crime writers and prize judging panels alike. If you haven't discovered what makes Harry Pigg so popular then now is the time!
