Bradford Smith

First published in 1964, Meditation by Bradford Smith draws on his extensive experience to provide clear guidance on how to practice rewarding meditation. Covering topics such as ‘What is Meditation?’, ‘Ways of Meditation’, ‘Group Meditation’, ‘Thinking in Symbols’, and ‘Meditation and the Arts,’ Smith presents his insights in a way that is easy for the everyday reader to understand. While meditation has been valued for thousands of years, its practice in the Western world remains limited, leaving many unsure of where to begin. Smith offers a pathway for individuals to discover the form of meditation most meaningful to them, tailored to their unique needs and interests. He encourages readers to embark on a journey of self-discovery, ask questions, confront life’s mysteries, develop personal convictions, and move beyond life’s distractions to uncover the true inner self, ready to be awakened and enjoyed. This book is a compelling resource for anyone interested in meditation.

"What does God think about me killing all these people?" This one question haunted SSG Stephen Conway, from hell-on-earth in Ramadi, Iraq to his home that became a battlefield. Brave Rifles takes you there, puts the gun in your hand, your finger on the trigger, the enemy before you, then walks you through the Sacred Scriptures to apply the healing salve of God's word to those stricken by the horrors of war. What does God think about war? Should a Christian fight? What about Jesus? The Ten Commandments? What about atrocity? Brave Rifles pierces to the heart of the most battle-hardened warrior. Bradford Smith decisively bears the word of God in answering the most difficult questions concerning war, killing, and ultimately, the warrior's place in it all.
