One of the most difficult portions of scripture for me to comment upon is the point that "all Israel will be saved." Does that mean that the saints of Israel as well as sinners will be saved? Perhaps the most visible confirmation of prophecy being fulfilled will be the rebuilding of the temple for the 3rd time, in Jerusalem, at the outset of the tribulation period. We have in another section explained how the prophecies of Daniel and Ezekiel make the rebuilding of the temple an event that initiates the 7-year period of tribulation. If you are a "pretribulation" believer, you believe the "body of believers" will not be here when Temple number three is rebuilt. There is no need, in a book written primarily to the Jews, to amplify the pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation and post-tribulation arguments. Suffice it to say that intelligent people disagree on whether the Church, that group of believers filled with the Holy Spirit, will go through any portion of the 7 year period of tribulation described by Daniel.

What is life? How can you choose life? When the scriptures speak of life and death, life is described as both physical and transitory and as eternal and spiritual. There is no question about the transitory, physical part. We are born, we live and we die. But if that was all there was to it, then those who say, "Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die" would have a good point. There is not a single "seeker of pleasure," who does not have a spirit within him that casts light on his self centered existence. That light within you is both your hope and your judge. God knows you intimately. Read and understand this next verse and then read the Psalm following it and you will know, if you carefully consider it, that God is "considering" you right now. His thoughts toward you exceed number. This point needs to be made over and over until you understand because it will lead you to understand that God initiates, you respond. It is His Holy Spirit seeking to commune with your spirit. If you feel Him calling and you fail to respond, you are spurning His affection and love. Your inaction is action.

Are you certain that death is the end? We all face two deaths, one physical and one spiritual. We cannot avoid physical death but we can avoid spiritual death. Those who feel that you are spiritually dead are wrong, at least for the present, because your choices remain before you. Spiritual death comes, in this lifetime and for eternity, when you decide that you are simply flesh and that you reject the notion that God exists. Spiritual death accompanies a belief that you have no spirit and that when you die, you die. You are spiritually dead if God's Spirit has not embraced, enveloped and apprehended you. That is a big concept, to be sure, but His Spirit has either filled your heart, witnessing to your spirit, or it has not

I would rather that the reader fills in the answer to this question, because in pointing out the reasons, it sounds like I am offering criticism of the Jews. Of course the Gentiles face the same judgment as the Jews. Whether the Jews have had more "light" (thus they should have less darkness) is a question you must consider. God's Word has told us, repeatedly, what it is that makes Him angry. The specific incidents that caused God to spell out the reason for His anger simply serve to point us to the nature of the underlying sin.

I realize that when writing to Israel, we must deal with the question, "Who was Jesus Christ?" while standing in the Light of the New Testament and while maintaining the integrity of the Old Testament. The answer to the question is the fulcrum upon which the history of the world turns. If so, and as the world looks to each new Millennium and beyond, those who honor the Jewish calendar would seem to be well served by doing some research on this Messianic topic. Seeking answers, and God's direction as you do so, is a reasonable endeavor. Surely those of Abraham's seed and who love God are not the enemy, myself included. Perhaps misled or unenlightened, but not the enemy.

On May 14, 1948, Israel became a nation. Now, 63 years later, many nations of the world have declared that Israel must be wiped from the map. God is not surprised. He told us that all nations would turn against Israel. Are you surprised at this development? Did you ever think the United States and Great Britain, et al, would turn against Israel? The tiny nation of Israel, God's chosen people, has or soon will become the enemy of all nations. Prophecy, fulfilled, is confirmation of the authenticity of the Bible. Now it is time to turn to prophecies which detail the "final events" prior to God's unleashing His righteous judgment on the enemies of Israel. Recall that after the great flood only 8 persons survived. Why was nearly all mankind wiped out during that event? God was angered with the attitudes and actions of the people. Sin was rampant. Disobedience documented the lifestyle of people who had become self centered and self righteous. The people of the world ignored the commands of God. Is history about to repeat itself? Are we approaching a time of sinful self indulgence never before equaled? Are we sliding toward Armageddon at a precipitous pace?
