The Danish architect Dorte Mandrup is one of the most aesthetically original and socially-committed Danish architects of her generation. Endowed with an untamed sense of humour, they represent the best of the Scandinavian tradition. Dorte Mandrup does not build without taking a stand on design, and she is never boring. Her unique way of handling reality penetrates her projects from the most audacious play on spatiality and shapes, as in the Herstedlund Community House, to the gentle restoration of a Danish classic like Arne Jacobsen's Munkegårdsskolen school. Edited by Tomas Lauri, this monograph features contributions from Hans Ibelings, Christian Bundegaard and Ken Martinussen, with a beautifully illustrated presentation of Dorte Mandrup's most acclaimed and daring projects.
