THIS SCHMUL PUBLISHING CO. EDITION IS NOT A SCANNED FACSIMILE OF A USED BOOK. It has been carefully typeset and proofread for accuracy and for easier reading by today's readers. Consequently there are no odd characters or missing text. This book is the true story of a converted drunkard, a coal miner from Cornwall, England. It is the story of the happy life he lived after his conversion, of his inspiration by the Lord to win souls for Christ and build chapels for their fellowship and worship. It tells how he prayed for people that he wanted to see converted, and of the secrets God revealed to him of those who would be converted. He had a natural wit, both in his ministry and in his conversation, and was especially gifted in repart e- answering criticisms from others. Without doubt, this is one of the happiest Christians who ever lived. Anyone who saw him could recognize him as Billy Bray because of his happy countenance and his shouts of praise. Even when the doctor told him that he was going to die, Billy's instant response was to shout, "Glory Glory be to God I shall soon be in Heaven " This book will inspire the reader to live a similarly joyful life, and to reach the same happy conclusion that Billy Bray reached.

COMPLETE AND UNABRIDGED. THIS SCHMUL PUBLISHING CO. EDITION IS NOT A SCANNED FACSIMILE OF A USED BOOK. It has been carefully typeset and proofread for accuracy and for easier reading by today's readers. Consequently there are no odd characters or missing text. This book focuses on experience and practicalities rather than theological details. The author provides clear and scientific statements of truth relating to the Holy Spirit. The first few chapters of the volume are filled with arguments in proof of His personality and divinity, with distinct scriptural references. In many books on the Holy Spirit there are some obvious defects: the omission of the direct witness of the Spirit to the believer's adoption into the family of God, and His agency in entire sanctification in this life. The author remedies these deficiencies in "The Gospel of the Comforter." Topics include Names of the Holy Spirit; The Holy Spirit and the Trinity; The Work of the Spirit Before the Day of Pentecost; The Pentecostal Attestation; Praying to the Holy Spirit; Miracles of the Holy Ghost; The Witness of the Spirit; The Holy Spirit and Conscience; The Holy Ghost and Singing; Preaching in Demonstration of the Spirit; The Extraordinary Gifts of the Spirit; Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit; much more.

In the popular series "Voices from Prison Walls" the author recounts the stories of God reaching gang members, murderers, fraudsters, drug addicts and other convicts. Each volume ("Voices from Prison Walls"; "More Voices from Prison Walls"; and now "Yet More Voices from Prison Walls") tells how men turn from the depths of depravity to the glorious light of Christ's love. But the prisoners' pastor does not rest with seeing convict conversions; he urges them on into the fullness of Entire Sanctification. Many of these sons of God eagerly press forward into the Second Blessing, even in the face of opposition from Islamists inside the prison and even officials in the state capital. In this volume, the author also reports on his adventures in Africa, where God used him to combat false doctrine springing up amidst fledgling national church groups. He endured heat and malaria, being stranded by broken down vehicles, and opposition from rival groups to proclaim the gospel message of heart holiness.
Heaven

Heaven

THE APOSTLE PAUL DECLARED that the suffering of this life, whatever it may be, is not even "worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward." The hope of Heaven has been part of the very fabric of the Church from its earliest beginning. Jesus confirmed to his disciples, and all those who would come after them, that "I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:2,3). Ever since he returned to sit by the throne of his Father, the driving goal of the Believer has ever been to be where he is. It is the ultimate prize of the Christian. But that does not mean we have been left with only hazy ideas of Heaven's environs. Bishop Weaver gathers all the data into one compilation for the encouragement of the Christian. This is a volume to be understood and held fast by the Believer. His goal is to cheer the pilgrim on the sometimes painful, and always dangerous, route to the capital city of the King of Kings.

The author delves into his pulpit experience from years as a successful pastor to contemplate those special occasions we celebrate every year. In his inimitable style he considers wide-ranging topics, both the expected and the not-so-usual occasions (National Adoption Day?)How many characteristics of the Proverbs 31 woman can be applied to Mother's Day, that haven't already been presented over and over again? He takes a fresh approach. How can Independence Day be made relevant to spiritual life? The author demonstrates. Some holidays are so noteworthy on the calendar that he presents more than one treatment for each of them, such as New Year's Day, Easter, Christmas. With fourteen addresses, each holiday is celebrated in the unique fashion that has made Paul Pierpoint so beloved by thousands across America.

THIS SCHMUL PUBLISHING CO. EDITION IS NOT A SCANNED FACSIMILE OF A USED BOOK. It has been carefully typeset and proofread for accuracy and for easier reading by today's readers. Consequently there are no odd characters or missing text. In "Sunset Echoes" noted holiness evangelist J. A. Wood is looking back on a lifetime of evangelistic ministry, a large part of it spent in urging Believers on to secure the Second Blessing. As he says in the preface, he gathered together articles he had written over the years for various publications, and combined them into this single book. As a moving force in the establishment of holiness campmeetings, his ministry was widely felt throughout the holiness movement of the nineteenth century. Much of his influence was a result of his prolific writing, thereby reaching thousands who were never privileged to hear him speak in person. In this volume he presses the heinous nature of sin, both the corruption of original sin and sin as acts of disobedience. He holds up the sacrifice of Jesus as the only hope of recovery for every soul, and for our sadly fallen world. Beyond salvation, he characteristically urges every Christian to seek and obtain the gift of the Holy Spirit. He examines the doctrine and functions of Perfect Love (one of his favorite terms for it) and examines various facets of it, including why people suffer its loss. He considers other parts of the Christian life, the pastor and his preaching, and more. To us in the twenty-first century, he unwittingly opens a view into his day: "The revival fire is now burning in more than a thousand churches in our land. God is marvelously at work. The flame is spreading. Multitudes are being converted to Christ. Many of our sanctuaries are being made vocal with the songs and praise of new born souls." Here, in this volume, is the secret of that vast moving of God.

Jesus encouraged his followers that even if one could give "a cup of cold water only... he shall in no wise lose his reward" (Matthew 10:42). The author uses this declaration as a springboard to build up Christians and induce every one to persevere in good deeds, no matter how small they may seem. The book itself becomes "a cup of cold water" of encouragement to every Christian, assuring all of us that whatever we can do is not insignificant.

THIS SCHMUL PUBLISHING CO. EDITION IS NOT A SCANNED FACSIMILE OF A USED BOOK. It has been carefully typeset and proofread for accuracy and for easier reading by today's readers. Consequently there are no odd characters or missing text. Life That is the main theme of A. M. Hills throughout this book. The author's ministry was wide, and his chief influence was as a scholar-evangelist in the holiness movement. At the time of publication of "Dying to Live" he was the president of Texas Holiness University near Greenville, Texas (later merged into what became known for many years as Bethany Nazarene College). The book came about largely through the urging of W. B. Godbey, who heard Hills preach at the Revivalist camp at Cincinnati. Hills holds forth a wide view of the Christian life, but primarily he spotlights the need of heart holiness in order to truly live. He discusses the hopeless state of the unconverted, and shows the way to salvation through the blood of Jesus. He warns against resisting the Holy Spirit, and holds up the great gift of entire sanctification, proclaiming that "death to self" is the prerequisite to victorious living. It is a message that is still as viable in our day as it was in his.
