For five years, from September 1994 to September 1999 I was the minister of the Reformed Congregation Trinity United Reformed Church in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England. My predecessor used to print on the service sheet, every week, a short text "For Meditation", summarizing the message of the day. I followed suite, but mostly the texts I offered had the form of haiku: three lines - 5+7+5 syllables.
