In a world obsessed with being extraordinary, is there anything wrong with simply living a peaceful, faithful life? In Life in the Slow Lane, 86-year-old David Morrison reflects on a life that may seem unremarkable by the world's standards, but has been rich in meaning, purpose, and quiet faithfulness. David shares the story of an "ordinary" life-one he considers a privilege to have lived. A committed Christian since the age of sixteen, he has always sought to please God not through grand gestures, but by hoping to be a devoted husband, a faithful father, and a diligent worker in whatever task was set before him. From his early days as a clerk in the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department to his long career as a teacher, David's journey is marked by a close walk with God, a lasting marriage, and strong family ties. Life in the Slow Lane is a gentle reminder that success doesn't always look flashy-and that a life lived with quiet faithfulness can be truly extraordinary. This book is partly biographical and partly a reflection on the world as David has observed it.

In 2013 it is possible that Israel, backed by the United States, will launch an attack on Iran. This would be a catastrophic event, risking war, bloodshed and global economic collapse. In this passionate, but rationally argued essay, the authors attempt to avert a potential global catastrophe by showing that the grounds for war do not exist, that there are no Iranian nuclear weapons, and that Iran would happily come to a table and strike a deal. They argue that the military threats aimed by the West against Iran contravene international law, and argue that Iran is a civilised country and legitimate power across the Middle East. For years Peter Oborne and David Morrison have, in their respective fields, examined the actions of our political classes and found them wanting. Now they have joined forces to make a powerful case against military action. In the wake of the Iraq war, will the politicians listen?

The Gush

During the Six Day War, Israel recaptured Gush Etzion, after it was in the hands of the Arabs since 1948. At the time, Moshe Moscovic, a charismatic and devoted Zionist leader, predicted that the Gush will transform into a center of Jewish learning. Less than forty years later, the reality has surpassed the dream. The Gush Etzion region has been transformed into the capital of modern religious Zionism. Its yeshivot are headed by such Torah luminaries as RAV YEHUDA AMITAL, RAV AARON LICHTENSTEIN, and RAV SHLOMO RISKIN. Graduates of yeshivot from Gush Etzion make up a disproportionately high percentage of fighting men in the elite units of the Israeli Defense Forces. WHAT compelled these leaders of Torah to leave much more comfortable surroundings in order to settle the Judean Hills? HOW did this region become the center of Torah study that it is today? THE GUSH is the story of these inspiring historical developments.
