Making a film or commercial takes a lot of people, equipment, time, and... These 1970 and 1980 photos were scanned in 2014 from 35mm film negatives, slides, and 3x5 prints. They were taken in the 80's and 90's to document some of the movies and television commericals shot in and around San Antonio, Texas. The same film crew hired over and over became family and enjoyed working together. Here are photos of a few of them. And now "Hair In The Gate Kirk" wants to show you some of the still photos he took while playing an Assistant Cameraman in the film business. Some film terminology is included to add some interest to the process of filmmaking in the 1980's before the days of digital cameras.
