3147The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) received an employer request for a health hazard evaluation at a hair salon in Ohio. The owner was concerned about employees' exposure to formaldehyde when performing hair smoothing treatments using Brazilian Blowout(R) hair products. NIOSH's findings and recommendations are discussed.
