When the gospel author, Matthew, wrote about Jesus, the story was decades old. The religious authorities and the Jewish population alike had firmly rejected Jesus. Yet Matthew wrote in hopes that they would consider these things and accept Jesus as the Messiah. And there is no better time than Advent to consider these things: how the coming of Jesus impacts you. "During the advent season our congregation thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to read and reflect on Christmas with Luke, written by Pastor Scott Wade. I have had the privilege to preview Christmas with Matthew, and we cannot wait to dive into this new devotional With the busyness that the Christmas season brings, this book provides the means to stay focused on the true meaning of Christmas. Families with children will especially enjoy this, as it provides activities for young children to become involved, which in turn helps with understanding. Whether you decide to use this as an individual devotional guide, group discussion topics, or as a family guide, this will indeed sharpen your focus on Christ, the reason for the season." -Darlene Govin, schoolteacher "If you want to have a deeper experience of the Advent season, then Christmas with Matthewis for you. Readers will glean helpful truths from each chapter. The daily exercises at the end of each article lead into meditation and application. I recommend this excellent Advent devotional for the new believer and seasoned veteran." -Gary Rupert, pastor
