This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING

The classic tale of rags to riches, and of kindness rewarded, that has entranced generations of children since 1905. Young Sara Crewe lives a life of luxury until a tragedy strikes. Thrown back on her own resources, Sara displays the nobility of a real princess until, as if by magic, her fortunes change again. Sara was the adored only child of a rich, indulgent father. She arrived at Miss Minchin's Seminary for Young Ladies in a flurry of silks and satins. The envy of the pupils, who spitefully call her "the little princess," she lives a life of luxury--until her father dies and the unscrupulous and spiteful Miss Minchin relegates the poor girl to the seminary's attic. Frances Hodgson Burnett was a British-American novelist and author of The Secret Garden. This novel, A Little Princess, shares the same sense of drama and charm as well as an understanding that nothing is more important than the friends we make in this life. The U. S. National Education Association named the book one of its "Teachers' Top Books for Children."

One of the most beloved children's stories of all time "The Secret Garden" is arguably Frances Hodgson Burnett's most famous novel. First serialized in the fall of 1910 and in book form in 1911, "The Secret Garden" is the story of Mary Lennox, a sick young girl living in India with her parents. Mary rarely sees her parents though, as her sick and unsightly condition is too much for them to bother with. She is placed in the constant care of Indian servants until an outbreak of cholera kills everyone in the Lennox household except for Mary. Mary returns to Yorkshire to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven. It is here that Mary learns of a secret garden that belonged to the late wife of her uncle. Mary is instantly intrigued and sets out to find this secret garden and what is contained within. This classic story is one which explores the healing power inherent in all living things, in this case that which grows in the garden. For its inspirational outlook in the face of tragic circumstances "The Secret Garden" is a work that has come to be cherished by generations of young readers ever since its first publication. This edition is printed on premium acid-free paper and is illustrated by Charles Robinson.

Mrs. Burnett's children are very real and attractive beings. Forlorn little Meg and Robin, whose Illinois home is ruled by an aunt, not actively unkind, but merely -advanced- beyond maternal sympathy and affection to an intimate and practical acquaintance with all matters agricultural, have caught some echoes from the enthusiasm of the founders of the Great White City

When Sara Crewe's father dies, her privileged status at an English boarding school comes to an abrupt end. The former favorite finds herself penniless and at the mercy of a vindictive headmistress -- but still manages to maintain her kind nature and optimistic outlook. This Victorian-era tale's message of making the best of misfortunes through imagination and generosity remains a source of inspiration and enchantment.
