After retiring in southern Oregon, we began hiking through the spectacular scenery and taking photos for later reminiscences and records for return trips. That led us to introducing a unique guide to our favorite hikes with a link to over 1,800 online color photos. That book is entitled "Hiking Sasquatch Country" and it contains commentary as well. Not too long after starting this project, we had our first encounter with Sasquatch Our next surprise came when due to our amazement at this event, we began talking to other hikers we met on the trails about our venture, and that's when we learned just how very many people out there who have had sightings and encounters, but who seldom talk about their experiences for fear of others questioning their sanity That started a series of published reports from people who began sending us their accounts of their personal experiences with the Bigfoot/Sasquatch, with the promise of confidentiality. We are pleased to announce our latest collection of personal experiences by those who have encountered Sasquatch. They shed new light on the subject of hibernation and we are becoming even more certain that the Bigfoot likely does so in colder climates, but perhaps not in warmer parts of the country with more mild winters. The majority of the encounters in this book come from the Pacific Northwest, but there are also stories from Montana, Minnesota and British Columbia. We take them in order of receipt out of fairness. Many gold miners, hikers, hunters and those living on rural properties have had experiences and sightings with these elusive creatures, and they want to share their stories with you.

This is our third release of what began as a study of the superstitions and beliefs of our Native American people. While we were visiting with a Shaman friend of ours, the discussion crossed that fine line between superstitions and tribal religious beliefs to the vengeful and terribly evil witch known as Skinwalker. Our friend made an introduction for us to a highly respected holy man who acted as a protective guide and buffer between us and any direct contact with the Navajo witch known in the Din culture as "yee naaldlooshii." Once we began learning more about these creatures, that buffer has been most important, and that is why publishing this; our third volume containing these Skinwalker reports, has been so long in coming. We have made every precaution to protect the identities of our reporters and informers whose desire to finally be able to see their stories in print can be realized at long last This volume also contains frightening experiences from people who have violated or scoffed at other Native American beliefs. From what they now feel; they will never do that again

This book is dedicated solely to the evil witch called Skinwalker, which a rough translation means, "With it, he goes on all fours." There are many witches in the Din (Navajo) culture, and they are mostly select individuals who possess the special powers to heal and administer these special healing powers to their people. Some of our investigations involved discreet meetings in remote locations; almost like participating in some clandestine espionage operation; however looking back on it now, we understand fully that many of our secretive meetings were truthfully on the edge of what, according to their true beliefs, our Navajo contacts could have been in life and death situations These stories were told to us in confidence and they are in the words of our submitters, with only slight changes where necessary to protect our contributors and tribal rights and locations.

A "Bigfoot-sized" thank you to our growing list of friends who have contributed their stories of Sasquatch sightings and encounters This is the fourth collection of never before printed Bigfoot stories. You will notice that the contributors to this book are much more diverse in locations than our prior publications. This book has several surprises; probably our biggest revelation was from a gentleman who was as amazed as we when he finally opened his great grandfather's personal diary. He had left it unread for years, allowing for the sadness to lessen and when finally reading the hand written notes, he found himself following his great grandfather's encounters with Sasquatch; and the contact took place on, of all places, Oak Island, Nova Scotia You will read about Kiekhaefer Mercury Outboards secret test facility at "Lake X" in Florida and their resident Sasquatch. Contributors from the upper Midwest areas of Michigan and Minnesota also reported their experiences. Mississippi managed to find room to add another "S" to its name, but this time it stands for Sasquatch Included are many exciting stories from a wide variety of Oregon residents and tourists in areas that the publishers know well. A surprising twist to Oregon's most outrageous city turned out to also involve members of a Sasquatch family; that city being none other than the infamous "Rajneeshpuram;" a commune of 18,000 worshippers who poisoned a city to sway an election Sasquatch played a big part in the adventures of modern day gold seekers in Oregon's coastal mountains and you can almost re-live some of these adventures enough to feel the intense fear when a soccer ball sized rock is thrown by a wild, hairy "mountain ape," as you're running for your life There is also a record of Sasquatch attacking a couple in a wilderness area in Utah and another one interrupting a vacation on a lake in Idaho. You'll read about two Bigfoot encounters that took place in Northern California, where Sasquatch sightings take place almost as frequently as in Oregon. I (Gary Swanson), had cause to think back to my personal encounter when hiking in a Southern Oregon gold mining area when my recollection became clouded with doubt when my photo failed to accurately show what I knew I had seen, and further mental review allowed me to remove all further doubt and to officially declare that I had really seen Sasquatch A member of Oregon's senate once said to a good friend of mine, "Denny, I know what I saw; I was stone cold sober and there was this apelike being just 10 yards away, facing me. Those reddish-yellow eyes seemed like they were reading my mind, and then it turned and in five seconds, I couldn't even hear it running anymore. This was a moment so exciting to me, and so amazing I want to tell the world, but I can't because I'd never get reelected again "I and so many more people feel the same way, but until proof is at hand, at least we are among very credible friends We hope that you will enjoy the reports as much as we have, and we can take comfort in the fact that not everything has been discovered, so there are still roads untraveled for us all to take

Many of our hikes continue far past where we have turned around, and one (The Rogue River Trail) stretches 40 miles one way from Grave Creek to Big Bend. Some of the mountain lake trails have alternate routes where the trails split and head off in opposite directions to eventually meet up again before continuing. Some of these scenic treks are so beautiful that we have not only taken them full circle, but returned again to hike to a halfway point, and then to turn around and return the same way, due to the incredible scenery. Most all of our travels were for pure enjoyment of the magnificence of this gorgeous country; not for the physical torture of extreme exercise. For this reason, many of our adventures are easier to follow than many hikes, because the exertion comes more from the distance traveled than the difficulty of the terrain. So very often, the scenery is so spectacular that one just has to stop in order to appreciate the grandeur of such wild and untouched beauty This book includes 43 hikes and 38 side trips. During our adventures, we seldom met many travelers, as Southern Oregon's splendor is so vast there could be thousands of hikers in these mountains at the same time, and yet meeting or passing others is a rarity. On occasion, we would meet hikers that carried the excitement of having seen or had an encounter with a Sasquatch, and on those occasions, they were very anxious to share their experience. These stories, along with others we have collected, are contained in our three Sasquatch books (They Saw Sasquatch, Sasquatch Encounters, and Bigfoot Uncovered).

Enter the mysterious world of Sasquatch "Bigfoot Uncovered" is the third in our collection of true stories about Sasquatch sightings and encounters. The majority of the stories in "Bigfoot Uncovered" took place in the Pacific Northwest and there are also encounters that happened in Colorado and Idaho. It is a result of our hiking book, "Hiking Sasquatch Country." The years we spent hiking the beautiful and rugged Southern Oregon and northernmost California areas brought us into contact with many hikers, campers, gold miners and those rugged individuals who live "off the grid " While also documenting our hikes with over 1,800 online photos, we met a great many people who mentioned experiences with Sasquatch, and though we had heard of the creature we had never seen one; that is until...that's another story. We put out the word that we would publish actual sightings and encounters and guarantee total anonymity to our submitters (if they so wished), and the stories began coming in. The first submissions were included in "Hiking Sasquatch Country," and then for the people not interested in the hikes, but only the stories; we published "They Saw Sasquatch." "Sasquatch Encounters" is another book of additional reports by more people who had personal stories of sightings and encounters while visiting the Pacific Northwest and from residents who were reticent about their experiences for fear of being construed as "wacky," as several submitters commented, but they still wanted to tell their story. There are also Bigfoot stories in "Sasquatch Encounters" that happened in other Western and Midwestern states. Our sincere thanks to our authors, and we look forward to feedback on the theories espoused by a few of these writers on why Bigfoot bodies are never found. The almost unknown world of the murderous Skinwalker has never been so fully exposed before this book. The accompanying stories and events regarding our Native American Peoples are the true stories of those unfortunate victims, who in their ignorance have removed items from Native American burial sites. The spirits, who appear to be guardians of the graves of the departed, can and do suffer horrible consequences upon those who have stolen items or caused damage or destruction to the sacred resting places of these first Americans. These reports are by survivors, some of whom who have been able to seek a reversal of the curses or by surviving relatives of those who received the revenge of the spirits. The frighteningly true results and the severe penalties exacted upon those who have desecrated, or even slightly disturbed, the resting places of the Native Americans are revealed as a cautionary explanation that has never been fully clarified to the tourist who carelessly stumbles upon such sacred sites.

The encounters and sightings in "Sasquatch Encounters" have never been published in print or online before. These reports come from many states and are told by the people who have met this elusive dweller of our forests. Al Capone's incident was found in a very old article that was prepared for printing in the Chicago Sun Times newspaper, but languished all these years in an old trunk It was given to us to reveal a humorous event at the gangster's oft-used hideout in northern Wisconsin; long before of the public even heard of Sasquatch. There are several incidents that came from the personal journals of early gold miners that were submitted by their descendants; proof that the Bigfoot has been here all along. We started out to write our hiking book, and the name "Hiking Sasquatch Country" came about from so many hikers, campers and gold miners who began telling us about the mysterious animal they called "Sasquatch or Bigfoot." The stories in this book came from those same people who not only convinced us to research records of this creature, but whom also contributed their own actual experiences.
