In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. Giosu Carducci (1835-1907) war ein italienischer Dichter, Redner und Literaturhistoriker. Schon fr h war Carducci mit kleinen literarhistorischen Arbeiten in Zeitschriften hervorgetreten, desgleichen mit einer lyrischen Sammlung: Rime (1857). Kr ftiger kam die Eigenart des Dichters in den weiteren Sammlungen: Levia gravia (1868) und I Decennali, zum Ausdruck. Hier verr t er sich als ein Poet von ungew hnlicher K hnheit und Originalit t des Gedankens. Der verneinende Geist, die rebellione, die forza vindice della ragione, wird darin mit schlagender Gewalt der Sprache als die treibende Kraft des Menschenlebens und der Weltgeschichte, als der Genius geistiger Unabh ngigkeit und Schrankenlosigkeit, als Prinzip allen Fortschritts gefeiert. Seine Vorliebe f r die altr mische Vergangenheit regte ihn auch dazu an, die Horazischen Odenstrophen in seinen Odi barbare (1880) und Nuove odi barbare zu erneuern. 1906 erhielt Carducci den Nobelpreis f r Literatur.

In 1906 the Nobel Prize for literature was awarded to Giosu Carducci of Italy for extraordinary lifelong accomplishment in the field of poetry. He was a Satanist. By the time he won the Nobel, Carducci had firmly established himself as one of the world's most well-known and influential literary figures with a large body of distinguished work and a long career of artistic achievement, political activism and religious agitation. He had published several volumes of poetry attracting worldwide critical acclaim... Carducci's credentials as a Satanist include not only his worldly successes and overt opposition to Christianity but his writing of the highly controversial poem, Inno a Satana or "Hymn to Satan." In writing, publicly reciting and twice publishing this astounding poem, he stepped firmly beyond his paganism and even his anti-clericalism into the realm of modern Satanism by embracing the mythic character of Satan as an exemplary role model and heroic archetypal symbol.
