Il suffit alors ceux qui se nomment volontiers des curieux, ceux aussi dont la profession est d' crire sur les Arts, que les Italiens soient venus projeter leur clatante lumi re sur le monde, et ces Italiens ne commencent gu re qu' Rapha l. Tous les Gothiques du Nord, les tr s vieux artistes, architectes, peintres ou sculpteurs, sont impitoyablement proscrits; on les traite de na fs et sauvages d riv s de l'art antique; leurs magots difformes sont attribu s en bloc l'Allemagne ou la Hollande. Quelques personnages inattendus, un peu singuliers, - tels Roger de Gaigni res, ou Peiresc, - s'ing nient recueillir les oeuvres nationales d daign es. Leur innocente manie fait sourire...
