Sein Vater baut ein traditionelles Navajo Haus aus Baumst mmen, einen Hogan, und wir lesen ber eine Schwitzh ttenzeremonie und lernen andere traditionelle Aktivit ten der Navajos kennen. Authentisch illustriert vom einem Navajo K nstler, Gerald Nailor, erinnert uns das Buch an einen langsameren, naturnahen, ges nderen Lebensstil. Dieser wird selbst bei den heutigen im Reservat lebenden Navajos nur noch selten so praktiziert. Das Buch wurde urspr nglich im Jahre 1940 von der Bildungsabteilung des Bureau of Indian Affairs ver ffentlicht.

Beautifully illustrated by a Native Navajo artist, Gerald Nailor, the book reminds us of a slower, healthier way of life. It was originally published in 1940 by the educational division of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. This is one of three books, originally created for different reading levels: the primer. Originally published in 1940 as a black and white edition by the educational division of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Native Child Dinetah has colorized the illustrations to make it attractive again to a new generation of readers.
