Next Generation e-book nonfiction 2023 Indie Book Award Prize. While social network analyses often demonstrate the usefulness of social media networks to affective publics and otherwise marginalized social justice groups, this book explores the domination and manipulation of social networks by more powerful political groups. Jeffrey Layne Blevins and James Lee look at the ways in which social media conversations about race turn politically charged, and in many cases, ugly. Studies show that social media is an important venue for news and political information, while focusing national attention on racially involved issues. Perhaps less understood, however, is the effective quality of this discourse, and its connection to popular politics, especially when Twitter trolls and social media mobs go on the attack. Taking on prominent case studies from the past few years, including the Ferguson protests and the Black Lives Matter movement, the 2016 presidential election, and the rise of fake news, this volume presents data visualization sets alongside careful scholarly analysis. The resulting volume provides new insight into social media, legacy news, and social justice.

This book presents a study of the ways in which legislation shapes and develops the law of obligations in the law. The book addresses particular questions such as the scope of purportedly exclusive legislative schemes, incremental policy-based changes, the question of when a change in the law of obligations ought to be left to the legislature and the role of law reform bodies. Recent jurisprudence of the leading courts on these issues are scrutinised. The author examines the implications for contract, tort and unjust enrichment posed by the Brexit process, and the transition set out by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. – These areas of private law have been affected by European legislation in numerous areas, for example consumer protection, but the extent to which there will be targeted reform is unclear. Although the primary focus is on the law of England and Wales, the argument also draws on the comparative experience of the Australian States under the various Civil Liability Acts, contrasted with the more incremental (but still problematic) legislative approach to tort in England. Developing a coherence-based approach, the book argues that the processes of legislation ought to involve more faithful engagement with the applicable principles than is often the case. A key theme that respect for coherence is not merely a matter of doctrinal purity, but also translates into more effective legislation. This thesis is given especial currency by the challenges of Brexit for English private law.

This book has been considered by academicians and scholars of great significance and value to literature. This forms a part of the knowledge base for future generations. So that the book is never forgotten we have represented this book in a print format as the same form as it was originally first published. First published in 1999, this volume examines the issue that, in the last two decades, the housing system in Hong Kong has witnessed a slow but consistent transition from a tenure dominated by public rental housing to one dominated by private home ownership. This book seeks to explain the unique social organization of home ownership in contemporary Hong Kong. Specifically, the book deals with the genesis of home ownership from three areas: housing histories, family culture and capital gains from home transactions. It is agreed that extreme deprivations in housing conditions in early lives, a strong family culture of mutual help as well as unprecedented capital gains, all contribute towards explaining the complex nature of home ownership growth. In conclusion the book suggests that with China regaining sovereignty after July 1997, the social organization of home ownership will be further complicated by more internal migrations from other parts of China, making housing problems even more acute.

In the dynamic digital age, the widespread use of computers has transformed engineering and science. A realistic and successful solution of an engineering problem usually begins with an accurate physical model of the problem and a proper understanding of the assumptions employed. With computers and appropriate software we can model and analyze complex physical systems and problems. However, efficient and accurate use of numerical results obtained from computer programs requires considerable background and advanced working knowledge to avoid blunders and the blind acceptance of computer results. This book provides the background and knowledge necessary to avoid these pitfalls, especially the most commonly used numerical methods employed in the solution of physical problems. It offers an in-depth presentation of the numerical methods for scales from nano to macro in nine self-contained chapters with extensive problems and up-to-date references, covering: Trends and new developments in simulation and computationWeighted residuals methodsFinite difference methodsFinite element methodsFinite strip/layer/prism methodsBoundary element methodsMeshless methodsMolecular dynamicsMultiphysics problemsMultiscale methods

You are a very special and unique person in the sight of God. He has a hope and future for you. Please begin to listen to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, and then He will find you because it is His great desire to walk with you. Jesus Christ will help you discover the real you--the you who has been created to do the will of the Father God on earth. When the presence of God comes down upon you, you will be filled with the Holy Spirit to accomplish His divine call in your life. God loves to release His divine anointing, plan, hope and future for you so you can become His instrument of righteousness to expand His kingdom on earth for His glory.

Every believer in Yeshua the Messiah must understand God's overall mission for fallen mankind. Once a disciple truly grasps God's heart for the Israelites and the Gentiles, they must walk with the authority of Yeshua and the power of the Holy Spirit, demonstrating His kingdom presence in this dark world.
