Dagens globaliserade värld framstår ofta som unik, som om den enbart existerat under de senaste århundradena. Men även den förmoderna världen var på sitt sätt globaliserad, om än i en annan skala och med ett annat tempo. I Förmodern globalitet diskuterar forskare från olika discipliner globala sammanhang i det avlägset förflutna. Författarna berättar om främmande föremål, bilder och motiv från 5 500 år före vår tideräkning till omkring år 1500.
