This report summarizes insights about prescription drug misuse (PDM) among active-duty personnel. It also presents the framework of an analytic tool that, once informed by data available to the military but not available to the authors, can help the military predict future trends in PDM based on current demographics of active-duty service members and rates of injury and prescribing of prescription drugs.

This report guides the District of Columbia Healthy Communities Collaborative's decisions about where and how to allocate resources and implement appropriate health interventions for the population it serves. The community health needs assessment described in this report includes quantitative analysis of existing demographic, health status, and hospital service use data for the District of Columbia, as well as analysis of current stakeholder perspectives, health policy, and investment priorities.

Describes the health status of the more than 100,000 children residing in Washington, D. C., and their use of health services. The authors examine differences in health status and health care use within the city, environmental characteristics affecting health, and community resident and provider perspectives. The goal of the study is to lay a factual foundation for advocacy and policy decisions related to children's health in the District.
