This is the new book from the author of Scenes for Teens and Acting Scenes for Kids and Tweens - a veteran actor with Hollywood and Broadway credits. Monologues for Teens is a collection of 60 Original Monologues on a wide variety of topics. They're designed to help teenage actors reach, stretch and stand out powerfully from the crowd. Each individual piece is gender-neutral and may be performed equally well by both male and female actors. These monologues are clean, family-friendly, thought-provoking, and designed to encourage positive attitudes and behaviors for student actors - and their audiences. Clean, lean, practical audition and performance material for acting class, performing arts schools, drama clubs, and drama coaches. No props, no costumes, no entrances, no exits, and no confusing stage directions. This book is an easy to follow, effective, and efficient guide to simplifying and demystifying the entire monologue process. The scripts are appropriate for film, television, and theater program training. Includes a foreword by Emmy Award winning actress and producer Jean Carol, and a detailed introduction to monologue selection, preparation and performance by the author. Monologues for Teens also includes helpful, behind-the-scenes suggestions on actor training and audition psychology. This book will help dedicated, creative student actors delve deeply into compelling storylines to create realistic and sympathetic characters - and set themselves apart from the crowd.
