Seducer, John Stevens, in his memoir describes an adventure lasting a year as he womanized in the sexually deviant, East European country of Hungary. Covered in explicit detail are the events leading up to and surrounding each of his colorful 26 affairs during that time. A spicy variety of girls and circumstances are entertained including virgins, nymphomaniacs, straying fianc es, exhibitionists, booty call, one-night stands, office flings, road trips, threesomes and partner swapping. His account is designed to appeal to a wider audience; namely men who are looking for practical, detailed examples of womanizing in action, under the guise of a novel. It also is appropriate for those women curious to delve into the minds of men and furthermore reflect on how they handle themselves in dating situations. It contrasts other self-help books on the subject as it primarily describes a story whereby any tips are subtly interwoven through the use of self-reflective moments and active demonstration. Recommended approaches are not listed clearly as numbered rules to follow. In this way, the humanity of the situation is preserved.

This is the catalogue produced in conjunction with the Enso: The Timeless Circle exhibition held at the Robyn Buntin of Honolulu Gallery in 2008/2009. Enso are the circles used in East Asian Buddhism to visually express Zen teachings on paper with a brush and ink. The Zen circle can represent many things-enlightenment, the universe, perfection, infinity, emptiness, the mind, the moon, enlightenment, and even a tea bowl or a sweet cake. Sixty-two enso are reproduced in color, both the image itself and the full-length of the scroll, with translations and commentary by Prof. John Stevens. The enso paintings date from the 13th century-the oldest enso painting known-to the present, with examples produced in Japan and in the West.

The way elderly persons living at home are cared for is changing. By placing more emphasis on the responsibility of family members in caring for needy older persons, the Netherlands is moving towards a family-oriented care model. But how is this category of elderly persons cared for in other countries in Europe? Based on a major survey of nine European countries, this book looks at the impairments experienced by older persons in these countries, the informal networks to which they have access, and the help they receive in practice. While there are many differences between the various countries, there are also many similarities. In the Mediterranean countries, responsibility for looking after the elderly lies not just with the nuclear family, but with the entire extended family; the role of the government is very limited. Today, however, this "familial model" is under great pressure, and it is only through the wide employment of immigrants in providing familial care that the government has so far been able to limit its responsibilities. The Netherlands is found to be comparable to the Scandinavian countries where the government plays an important role in supporting older persons in need of help. In many respects, the situation in the Netherlands is more favorable. There are relatively few older persons with disabilities in the Netherlands, moreover, these older persons have access to a relatively large informal network and also receive formal help frequently. Despite this, there remain many older persons with disabilities, including in the Netherlands, who receive no help. Each of the authors is employed with the Social and Cultural Planning Office of the Netherlands.
