The third volume in one of the most useful vocabulary series you'll find The five books in this series for learners of English feature the most common phrasal verbs in English, presented in order-the 30 most common phrasal verbs are in Book 1, the next 30 most frequently used verbs are in Book 2, and so on. However, you do not need to use the books in order. Advanced students may wish to start the series in the middle. Each unit presents three phrasal verbs. You'll see the verbs used in context, study definitions, and then practice using them in a variety of different exercises. There's even additional online practice. Throughout the book, phrasal verbs from previous units are recycled, so you have additional support in remembering them. You can learn and practice at your own pace. You can use the book to support a class you are taking or just to learn on your own.
The second volume in one of the most useful vocabulary series you'll find To speak a new language, you need vocabulary. You need words, phrases, key sentences, and idioms. To speak a language really well, you need a lot of vocabulary, and you need to know the different meanings for the vocabulary. One of the most difficult parts of English is a special vocabulary group called phrasal verbs. Phrasal verbs have two or three words. The first word is usually a very common one-syllable verb like take, come, put, or go. The second part is usually a preposition or adverb like off, up, in, or away. These parts together have a new meaning. You can know the meaning of take and the meaning of off, but take off has a different meaning. The goal of this book is to help you learn the most frequent phrasal verb with their most important meetings. Instead of long vocabulary lists, each lesson in this book teaches you only three phrasal verbs, with meanings and many useful examples. There are also many short exercises for you to practice the phrasal verbs in a very direct way. They can be completed in a day, a week, or as much time as you need.

The 4 Point series is designed for English language learners whose primary goal is to succeed in an academic setting. Academic English learners need skills-based books that focus on reading, listening, and speaking, as well as the two primary language bases of vocabulary and grammar. The ultimate goal is to help your students improve these skills and earn a 4.0 (GPA). The Introduction to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) level is designed for students in academic programs who need a more general introduction to authentic academic content. The discrete skills volumes are designed for programs and courses that want to more intensively focus on key strategies and authentic academic content in one skill area. Each 4 Point volume covers academic skills while providing reinforcement and systematic recycling of key vocabulary issues and further exposure to grammar issues. These volumes focus very heavily on vocabulary because language learners know that they are way behind their native-speaker counterparts when it comes to vocabulary. Each book highlights key vocabulary items, including individual words, compound words, phrasal verbs, short phrases, idioms, metaphors, collocations, and longer set lexical phrases. Reading for Academic Purposes is an introductory textbook containing English for Academic Purposes content. Each unit includes two authentic reading passages on the same topic within a field of academic study: Marketing, Architecture, Linguistics, Fine Arts, Legal Studies, and Literature. Most readings come from texts that are used as college/university textbooks. Each reading is accompanied by a before-reading and after-reading strategy, plus either a during-reading or vocabulary strategy, followed by a practice activity. The goal is to provide students with a variety of strategies/tools to master whatever academic texts they may encounter.

The Four Point series is designed for English language learners whose primary goal is to succeed in an academic setting. The series covers the four academic skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking while providing reinforcement and systematic recycling of key vocabulary and further exposure to grammar issues. In order to participate in academic settings, ELLs need focused activities to develop and then maintain their use of vocabulary and grammar. Each book in the series focuses heavily on vocabulary in particular, highlighting between 125-150 key vocabulary items including individual words, compound words, phrasal verbs, short phrases, idioms, metaphors, collocations, and longer set lexical phrases. Each unit in Reading-Writing Intro, includes two reading passages on the same topic within a field of academic study: Marketing, Architecture, Linguistics, Fine Arts, Legal Studies, and Literature. Each reading is accompanied by a before-reading and after-reading strategy, plus either a during-reading or vocabulary strategy, followed by practice activities. The goal is to provide students with a variety of strategies/tools to master whatever academic texts they may encounter. In addition, exercises have been designed to develop vocabulary, paraphrasing, summarizing, and synthesizing skills. By addressing the breadth and depth of reading and writing tasks required in academic settings instead of only reading for pleasure or writing for research projects, this volume truly prepares students for the variety of reading texts and writing projects they will be assigned in colleges and universities.
