Apr s le retour de l' le d'Elbe, appel par Napol on Ier au minist re de la guerre, Davout, de concert avec l'Empereur, organisa en trois mois l'arm e fran aise sur le pied o elle tait avant les v nements de 1814, et cr a d'immenses ressources militaires pour la d fense du pays. Toutes les mesures avaient t prises pour que, dans le courant du mois d'ao t, 800 000 hommes fussent sur pied, arm s et quip s. Davout documenta Les Cent-Jours dans ce m moire qui a t publi par son petit-fils le comte de Vigier en 1898 dans son ouvrage Davout, mar chal d'Empire.
