The Big Silent er en kunstnerisk undersøgelse af flyglet som et af de mest magtfulde instrumenter i den vestlige musikkultur. Med afsæt i legenden om Rottefængeren fra Hameln, hvor musik bliver en kraft, der kan føre kroppe bort, reflekterer værket over, hvordan instrumenter i sig selv kan forme, påvirke og kontrollere dem, der møder dem. Publikationen følger kunstneren Niels Lyhne Løkkegaards kollektive adskillelse og rekonfiguration af et flygel. Dets indre dele udtages og bevares som “klaverparasitter”, hvilket forvandler instrumentet til et spekulativt arkiv, der blotlægger de historier, ideologier og skjulte handlekræfter, der er indlejret i vestlig musik. I stedet for at ødelægge flyglet blødgør og destabiliserer Den Store Stilhed det – og tilgår instrumentet som en hjemsøgt, parasitisk krop, hvis autoritet kan udfordres, åbnes og forvandles. Boken undersöker "buggar" ur en dubbeltydig betydelse: dels som tekniska glitchar, dvs processer och estetik som bygger på visuella störningar, skapade av digital teknik, dels som insekter, med övergripande teman såsom svärmar, nätverk, symbios och rubbade ekosystem. Field Guide to Bugs & Metamorphosis: Glitching Photography utforskar fotografi genom att lyfta fram samspelet och brytpunkterna mellan människa, natur och maskin, utifrån dagens nätverksbaserade och maskinella teknologier. The book explores "bugs" in two ways: as technical glitches, processes and aesthetics stemming from visual errors in digital technologies, and as insects, with themes like swarming, webbing, symbiosis, and extinction. Field Guide to Bugs & Metamorphosis: Glitching Photography provides critical insights into contemporary networked and machine-based photography. Using the locus of photography, the book and exhibition both examine how what might initially be perceived as an error can act as a creative and critical agent, simultaneously.

Open Innovation in the form of case competitions, open innovation calls or hackathons have in the past decade or two become a favorite tool for organisations seeking to address sustainability challenges and creating systems change - and there are good reasons for this. From a value creation perspective, open innovation often pays off on several accounts if done well: it creates new and innovate solutions to real world problems, it brings together organisations and individuals in a working relationship and thus strengthens the innovation ecosystem around the challenge, and it is relatively cheap compared to other options for seeking innovation and solutions. The case example explained in this publication is catalyse systemic change through innovation in areas of human activity that have a critical impact on greenhouse gas emissions - cities, materials and finance - and to create climate-resilient communities. Catalysing systemic change through innovation means connecting a supply of innovation with demand-side actors: problem-owners and those with high ambition for change.
