This study book is designed to accompany the City & Guilds 2360 Course C on Electrical Installation Work, but can also be used on specific short courses. A project in the Appendix to the book comprises a specification, a set of drawings and a list of tasks, which can be worked through in stages as each relevant chapter of the book is completed. Additional information on installations that need special consideration is also included, for example: explosive and hazardous areas, agricultural and horticultural installations, standby supplies and lightning protection, fire alarm requirements.

This book is designed to give the intermediate science and theory necessary for electrical installation work. It covers Magnetism; Electrostatics; D. C. Machines; A. C. Theory and Machines; Transformers; Illumination; Efficiency, Work, Energy and Power; and Instruments. The book ends with both short answer and multiple choice tests for practice.

This study book covers the following topics on installation and Commissioning: supply, overcurrent and earth fault protection, the electrical information required, selection of conductor size, selection of cable and protective conductors, preparting for commissioning, testing, alarm systems, and fault location. Stage 1 Design also includes a circuit design project. Circuit 1 has been completed to aid students in completing circuits 2, 3 and 4 at the relevant stages in the book. Self-assessment questions and an end test are included so that progress can be monitored. The intermediate Course books cover the knowledge requirements for the City & Guilds of London Institute 2360 Electrical Installation Scheme, Part 2 and NVQ level 3.

This study book is designed to give the background Electrical Science required for basic Electrical Installation work. It covers Science, Electronics, Sources of Electricity and their Effects, and Associated Mathematics. The Electronics topics are covered in a way that is related to Electrical Installation work. The construction and use of components considers how they can be tested and, if necessary, replaced.

This study book gives students a background to the use of cables and enclosed cable systems. It not only looks at the cables in use but also at what should be considered when selecting cables for an application. Students are given methods for carrying out the basic calculations necessary to select the correct cable ratings for the given situations. Other topics in the book include: Steel conduit, PVC conduit, Trunking and cable tray, Fixing, mechanical protection and the installation of cables.
