Auf ihrer vierten Bilderreise durch das rheinische Braunkohlenrevier vermitteln RWE-Archivar Manfred Coenen und der Historiker Volker Schüler Impressionen aus dem Norden der Region um Grevenbroich. Vor etwa 100 Jahren ging hier die Brikettfabrik der "Gewerkschaft Neurath" in Betrieb, Mitte 1912 folgte die Schwester-Fabrik "Prinzessin Victoria". Der gemeinsame Tagebau versorgte ab Mitte der 1920er-Jahre auch das Kraftwerk "Frimmersdorf I" mit Rohkohle. 1955 gingen die ersten Blöcke des Kraftwerks "Frimmersdorf II" ans Netz. Zusammen mit dem Kraftwerk "Neurath", dessen fünf Blöcke zwischen 1972 und 1976 anliefen, machten sie die Stadt Grevenbroich zum größten Stromerzeugungsstandort Deutschlands. 1968 endete die Produktion auf "Neurath" und "Prinzessin Viktoria". Die Autoren sind tief in ihrer rheinischen Heimat verwurzelt. Anhand von über 200 bislang meist unveröffentlichten Aufnahmen aus dem Archiv von RWE Power lassen sie ein Stück Industriegeschichte wieder aufleben, das bis heute fortwirkt. Denn der fortschreitende Tagebau "Garzweiler" wird bis 2045 Leben und Entwicklung im Norden des Braunkohlenreviers beeinflussen.
