Charakterkunde ist ein prominentes Thema der altchinesischen Literatur. Die Frage, wie man den Charakter seiner Mitmenschen ergr nden kann und einzusch tzen hat, wird oft im Zusammenhang mit der Vergabe von mtern besprochen. Die Texte, die diese Thematik behandeln, spiegeln einen wichtigen Aspekt der Herausbildung eines b rokratischen Zentralstaates vor der Gr ndung des chinesischen Kaiserreiches im Jahre 221 v. Chr. wider: Die mtervergabe nach Kriterien der Familienzugeh rigkeit wurde durch meritokratische Grunds tze der Beamtenrekrutierung erg nzt und teilweise abgel st. Diese Arbeit untersucht die zwei umfangreichsten und systematischsten altchinesischen Texte zum Thema der Beamtenrekrutierung im Hinblick auf ihre Genese, ihr Verh ltnis zueinander und zu den zahlreichen Parallelen in anderen Texten unterschiedlicher Provenienz. Aus literarischen und au erliterarischen Indizien werden R ckschl sse gezogen auf das zugrundeliegende Textmaterial sowie auf die historischen Wurzeln der meritokratischen Traditionen.

This book develops a new model of the genesis of health, on the basis of the interplay between genetic and environmental factors. Hurrelmann and Richter build upon the basic theories of health and the popular model of salutogenesis to offer a comprehensive interdisciplinary theory of health genesis and success: Productive Processing of Reality (PPR). The authors show that health is the lifelong dynamic process of dealing with the internal reality of physical and psychological impulses and the external reality of social and material impulses. To demonstrate this, the book is split into three interconnected parts. Part A analyses the determinants of health, providing an overview of the insights of current research and the impact of socioeconomic influences and gender on health. Part B covers public health, social, learning and coping theories, all of which understand health as an interaction between people and their environment. Part C draws on these four theories to outline PPR, stressing the interrelation between physical and mental constitution and the demands of the social and mental environment, and suggesting strategies for coping with these demands during the life course. The experienced secret agent Paulsen and his young and motivated partner take on the journey to Mosul and witness things, the Islamic State is not keen on sharing with the world. The meeting with the caliph ahead, they wonder if they can trust the word of the Caliph. At the same time an attack occurs in Miami committed by an islamist terrorist. The court psychiatrist Adriana Borrero is entrusted with creating an opinion on the suspect. With time she encounters several inconsistencies in his story. She starts to investigate with a police friend of hers and soon discovers that the Islamic State is an invention of the CIA, sacrificing countless lives. But can she save the endangered people in time?

Wie lassen sich Lesefreude und Lesemotivation im Literaturunterricht vermitteln, wie Lesekompetenz und Textverstehen gezielt fördern? Dieses Studienbuch ist eine praxisorientierte Einführung in die Literaturdidaktik und entwickelt zugleich ein innovatives Kompetenzmodell für das Verstehen von Texten. Für die Neuauflage des eingeführten Studienbuchs wurde ein Teil der Kapitel grundlegend überarbeitet und die Abschnitte über „Schreiben" und „Unterrichtseinheiten" neu eingefügt.
