En a os recientes las normas ambientales han originado que se reciclen los materiales, los lubricantes no son la excepci n, esto ayuda a aliviar la contaminaci n ambiental, los lubricantes son limpiados de impurezas, detergentes etc, y puestos en el mercado nuevamente cumpliendo las normas ASTM para lubricantes. Las unidades de transporte de pasajeros, de carga, maquinaria para la construcci n y agr cola utilizan estos lubricantes, este trabajo demuestra que el uso de estos lubricantes no son aptos para su uso en estas unidades. Fueron necesarios ensayos de desgaste, extrema presi n, dureza, tracci n y microscopia avanzada para determinar las caracter sticas f sicas y qu micas que originan los da os en las direcciones hidr ulicas de servicio pesado Los ensayos fueron realizados con una maquina tribol gica de cuatro esferas en el Instituto Polit cnico Nacional unidad profesional Zacatenco en la ciudad de M xico con la colaboraci n del Dr. en f sica aplicada investigador y profesor docente Manuel Vite Torres Los ensayos de microscopia de avanzada se realizaron en la Universidad Nacional Aut noma de M xico bajo la supervisi n del Dr. en f sica aplicada y profesor investigador Jos Reyes Gasga.
