Millets are diverse small-seeded crops which are resilient to climatic stress, pests, and diseases. These can be grown in rainfed conditions with minimal agricultural inputs. These are considered nutritionally superior to other major cereals like rice, wheat, and maize as they contain a significant amount of protein, dietary fibre, and minerals. Today, millets are recognized and considered as integral components of a sustainable food system. Millets have low glycaemic index and are beneficial for diabetics. Millet protein is devoid of gluten, making them a better option than wheat for patients with gluten sensitivity. Millets: Cultivation, Processing, and Utilization covers information on taxonomy, morphology, germplasm accessions, cultivation practices, harvesting methods, threshing, cleaning, storage, milling, structural and engineering properties, nutritional and anti-nutritional values, health benefits, food applications, by-products, non-food applications, quality standards, and prospects in millet processing. This book's sixteen in-depth chapters give readers complete information on all facets of millet cultivation, processing, and use. It is a unique compilation of information on millets from farm to fork and beyond. This book will be useful for students, researchers, farmers, and entrepreneurs in understanding millets and their applications. It has been compiled by experts in the field and can serve as a guidance document for the stakeholders.

Colleges sell themselves by the numbers—rankings, returns on investments, and top-ten lists—but these often mislead prospective students. What numbers should they really be paying attention to? High school and college students are inundated by indicators and rankings supposedly designed to help them decide where to go to college and what to study once they arrive. In Metrics That Matter, coauthors Zachary Bleemer, Mukul Kumar, Aashish Mehta, Chris Muellerleile, and Christopher Newfield take a critical look at these metrics and find that many of the most popular ones are confusing, misleading, and—most importantly—easily replaceable by more helpful alternatives. Metrics That Matter explores popular metrics used by future and current college students, with chapters focusing on colleges' return on investment, university rankings, average student debt, average wages by college major, and more. Written for students, their families, and the counselors who advise them, each chapter explains a common metric's fundamental flaws when used as a basis for making important educational decisions. The authors then draw on decades of scholarship from many academic fields to pair each metric with a concrete recommendation for alternative information, both qualitative and quantitative, that would be more useful and meaningful for students to consider. They emphasize that students should be thinking beyond solely using metrics when making college decisions—students should focus on their intellectual and academic education goals, not just vocational or monetary ones. Students' reliance on certain metrics has skewed universities away from providing high-quality education and distorted the perception of higher education's purpose, overemphasizing private financial returns over the broader economic and social benefits of universities. This book aims to facilitate important student decisions while reorienting public perceptions of higher education's values and how universities should measure their own success.
Do not believe in God till you experience Him
Does Karma exist? Is it possible to remember past life? Are there clairvoyant people who can see your aura and know of your past and future? Is it possible to have "out of the body" experience? Can there be transmigration of souls? Do our dreams tell us something? Can a Guru help you liberate from the cycle of life and death? Is there life on other planets and solar systems? Are there intelligent beings in outer space who are observing us? Do some people know when the world will end? Is it possible to be prepared for the end of the times and to move on to a new civilization? What is the purpose of my life? A series of mysterious coincidences lead a child from a remote village in India, who would not have any future otherwise, make leaps of progress. His curiosity led him to attend some conferences given by a Brazilian missionary representing a cult in Spain headed by a Spiritual leader from Mexico. There was an instant attraction. The boy cuts his family connections, overlooks his career aspirations and lands up in the monastery in the Catalu a region of Spain to be a missionary. The spiritual head of the cult directs all the followers to abandon their worldly connections and prepare for the doomsday and creation of a new human race. The followers built safe houses and prepared fervently in line with the instructions of the spiritual head. The doomsday prediction does not materialize and what follows is chaos and disorientation. The protagonist survives to tell his story.

Freedom, friends and fun. That's how most of us remember our college years. But for those studying to get into the coveted Indian Civil Services, college life acquires an additional layer. As Boys Become Men revolves around three such boys, Mihir, Uday and Sandeep, who set out together to crack the Civil Services exam. Narrated by the thoughtful and intense Mihir, this book explores college life, friendship, romance, leaving home and adjusting to a new environment, and describes how negotiating the path between dharma and desire, love and lust, can be tricky. A sparkling story of the bond between a boisterous trio, the book will take you on a journey of discovery, where boys become men, and students become civil servants. In the course the book also ends up telling us what not to do when writing the Civil Services exam. A slice-of-life tale with a 'Mona Lisa' flavour that offers fun and romance aplenty, this book also imparts philosophical truths that will help every young person out to discover life.
