In traditional Unani literature, psoriasis, referred to as "Taqashshure Jild," is aprevalent skin condition marked by dryness of the skin and the formation of scalesresembling fish scales 1 . It is attributed, primarily due to aggravated hiddat, taufunIntroduction2dam, and safra (disruptions in blood and bile) 2,3 . This skin ailment involves thedevelopment of plaques alongside scales and skin dryness 4 . In Unani medicine, psoriasis is believed to arise from a burnt melancholic humor that possesses irritantproperties, leading to skin damage, intense itching, roughness, and scaling 3,5,6, . Psoriasis vulgaris, an inflammatory disorder, is characterized by red scaling plaqueson the skin. It can take various forms and affect localized areas or the entire body. Themost common variant is plaque psoriasis, where distinct plaques with well-definedborders form, varying in size and thickness, from barely noticeable to prominentlyelevated areas 7 . As far as the contribution of research by Unani scholars are concerned it is too meagerin whole Unani system in general and dermatology in particular.
