Behavioral health (BH) problems are common in the military. Research suggests that primary care?behavioral health (PCBH) integration can improve BH outcomes. The authors conducted a process evaluation of the PCBH program in the military health system to understand program implementation and inform quality improvement. Findings are in four key areas: staffing/capabilities, valued tasks, program stewardship, and fostering program awareness/support.

Many veterans and their families struggle with behavioral health, family reintegration, and relationship problems. However, unlike many veterans, family members are generally not eligible to receive care at Department of Veterans Affairs facilities. The Unified Behavioral Health Center is offering a new model of care by providing colocated and coordinated care for veterans and their families. This report presents an evaluation of this model.

The Army wished to understand whether the Army s Force Generation (ARFORGEN) cycle created ebbs and flows in the ability of military treatment facilities to provide care and respond to changing family needs as soldiers and care providers deploy and return home. This study examines how the cycle affects capability and soldier health care utilization at Army military treatment facilities and how it affects family health care utilization."
