Merry Meet and welcome to the first year of the Occultists Diary 2019/20. This diary not only highlights the past late and great occultists but gives and insight into the magickal working they left as their legacy. We have also given pages to the outstanding occultists who are with us today. They, who continue to create... the poets authors artists musicians leaders in Temple ritual, all devoted to the furtherance of the art-magi-cal. There are 206 pages and over fifty citations of mystics from Setne Khaem'waset through to Dion Fortune. I would like thank all those who have given their permission to include their biographies outlining their excellent work. Many thanks to Paul F. Newman for overseeing this mammoth task of compiling the pages and contributing to the articles. It must be noted that the citations included in this diary, although short, serve as a mere signpost for readers to delve and investigate further. Thank you for choosing this diary, may it be a source of magickal renewal as you turn the pages throughout the year. Be Blessed. Thank you: Louis Martinie, Don Webb, Mogg Morgan, Bill Duvendack, Linda Iles, Jan Magee, Ana Jones, Janet Farrar, David Rankine, Steve Wilson, Storm Constantine, Payam Nabarz, Alan Richardson, Set Amam Altakhsas, to name but a few.
"Whosoever shall enter this space... thy double shall seek thee out." Hidden since antiquity, the tomb of the beautiful Lady of The Two Lands is awaiting rediscovery. The dark duality of Ancient Egypt draws in two modern-day twin brothers, Stuart and Harry Knowles. Physically alike but temperamentally different, one is a renowned Egyptologist, one a convicted felon. Their similarities cause both danger and confusion not only in their professional reputations but also in their love lives. Which woman most resembled the fabulous Lost Queen? Was it the cool mysterious Yasmin or the sparky hypnotic Delilah? The fate of the brothers is as much entwined with these two exotic ladies as it is to the golden Mistress of Upper and Lower Egypt. The shadowy underground tombs, where deadly archaic curses mix with twenty-first century skulduggery, reflect the sweet darkness of a cup of Egyptian coffee. "As sweet as love, as black as night and as hot as hell".
Two years ago my partner Alain Leroy and I were sitting in our favourite country pub, Irby Mill on the Wirral, having a drink, when the germ of an idea hit us to write a book together - a comedy that will make you laugh from beginning to end..... Bruce Cooper, a Londoner now living in the Midlands, is married to Patty. They have two children; twins Bobby and Charlene. Bruce has worked in a metal factory for fifteen years and is now faced with redundancy. He has a choice of staying with the factory under new management and accepting a cut in salary or taking a redundancy pay-off. There is no prospect of other work in his area. He buys a scratch card on the way home and gives it to his wife. They have won four million pounds. Even though Brexit is on the doorstep Patty decides to make a new life in Spain. But they get more than they bargain for. The house they buy is right in the middle of a Russian community - and they're not ordinary Russians.
Summer in the Sussex countryside. Jake Rawlins, a young professional man, is spending his first night in the empty dilapidated house with an overgrown garden he has recently purchased. Disturbed by sounds downstairs he cautiously investigates and finds a frightened girl in the kitchen. A strange elfin-like girl whose speech and dress come directly from the seventeenth century when the land was split between king and parliament... a girl who purports to be an apprentice to the herbalist Nicholas Culpeper... a girl who can talk to things unseen... a girl who will change his life... a girl called Verity Moss.

Hello readers, and welcome to my new magazine. It's an exciting brand-new project that I hope you will enjoy. Writing about Rock'n'Roll through to Rockabilly and Country is not new to me however; my first article was an interview I did way back in 1996, later published in Crazy Bear magazine. From there I wrote for several others and finally ended up writing for the French magazine Rock & Roll Revue until it ceased operation. Instead of putting my pen and notebook back in the drawer, my partner Judith (Page) and I decided to create our own music journal. Our idea didn't stop at one magazine, but two versions; one in French and this one in English. The next thing I needed was a team - an Anglo-French one. For the French version I work with Eric Galland, and on the English side I work with Judith and Paul F Newman. My team have other lives; my partner Judith is an author of over a dozen books, and Paul is also a published author and an authority on cosmic astrology. This issue will include an interview with Freddie 'Boy' Burns, articles on singers: George Jones, Johnny Bond, Sheb Wooley, Kid Thomas and Eddie Noack. There's also a superb article on Mahalia Jackson by Judith, and another by Paul who will have his own unique page highlighting 'the story of a song'. It's an amazing experience having to write the majority of articles and editing a magazine in the two languages French and English. The common language in both is 'music', and inside these pages you can read about Country Music, Hillbilly, Blues, Country Boogie, Rock'n'Roll, and the joy of all... Rockabilly. The name for the magazine I've chosen is 'Juke Box Boogie', a tribute to my old friend Freddie Burns, who sadly died in 2015 at the age of 102. This first issue of Juke Box Boogie is dedicated to the late Bernard Boyat. We, the team salute you. You were a giant and the voice and life of Rock'n'Roll.
This is the 2nd issue of Grael, a magazine of magick and mystery, and once more we hope you will enjoy this special edition brought out this time for Imbolc, the festival of returning light. Not only have we a mention of the related Ground hog Day but you can read of mermaids and black mirrors and other strange and wonderful things. Judith amazes us again with her gift for adorning the stark white pages with all manner of decorations, adding extra colour to the already colourful content. Her article on the cairn of Gavrinis, that mysterious mound that continues to baffle scholars, is a fascinating read, as is the investigation into Imbolg or Candlemas that opens this issue. Caroline Wise has also contributed some excellent material, including her personal investigation of Lupa and of Bride, the Imbolc goddess. David de Roeck's 'Granny knows best' has added yet more flavour to our magazine. All the remedies have been tried and tested by Judith.

Welcome to Grael, a magazine of magick and mystery. We hope you will enjoy this special Yuletide edition with its selection of colourful seasonal recipes and insightful articles with a December solstice flavour. We have a great mix of articles by Paul F Newman, Judith Page, who has so effectively designed and illustrated the pages, and by Caroline Wise, who, in herself is quite an authority on the subject of Elen. I have provided an insight into the cosmic side of Mr Scrooge, and the seasonal significance of the old tale of Gawain and the Green Knight. In the coming year we aim to produce more issues of Grael with new content on related astro/mythical/magickal/spiritual themes. So if you liked this one please keep an eye open for more instalments to come. But now the compliments of the season to you and a merry and festive time as the end-of-year is joyfully recharged.
'There's no easy way to say this Stella... We are witches.'In the early days of WW2, Stella inherits a house and herbalist shop in Yorkshire from her down-to-earth yet enigmatic aunt. As the threat of Nazi invasion increases, Stella finds her new home is a satellite in a network of magical working lodges across the country, their base being the mother lodge in Bayswater, under the leadership of an arch priestess and adept of the mysteries. The aim is to protect the blessed isles with magic; from high angelic forms to the old guardians of the land. These include the mythic hero Robin Hood, and the green gods of the woods, who are but masks of the oldest territorial guardians of Blighty. By necessity, Stella is fast-tracked in her magical initiation, against a backdrop of the Blitz. As the bombs drop, espionage and enemies of the state abound. The Lodges, who the War Office keep an eye on, are one step ahead of the game. Judith Page and Paul Newman skillfully entwine, as do their protagonists, the correspondences of high esoteric wisdom with paganism, mediumship, witchcraft and myth to form a cohesive and vibrant defense of the realm in that very real other Battle of Britain - the magical one.
Knights Templar, spirit guides, tumultuous storms, suspicion, manipulation, the Mandylion, Frankenstein, DNA, and something that never died. A veiled woman leads university graduate Herv Caradec into the greatest adventure of his life - a secret Cloth, a Holy Shroud, moved and hidden over the centuries. But why him? Why her? As they follow the medieval Templar trail across Europe: France, England, Switzerland... others are close behind and the sinister purpose underlying the current quest is revealed. Finally as lovers they reach the Holy Land where love and death meet in climax.
Whether as muse, silver goddess, nourishing mother, priestess, maid, siren or witch, the influence of the Moon on our personality and perception is one of the least understood factors in our daily lives. Luna has fascinated, inspired, and frightened us since the dawn of human history yet She of the Three Faces is the clue to our most emotional and instinctive selves. This new work by Paul F. Newman probes the subtle meanings of habit and the irrational that the astrological Moon conveys and how we can comprehend it and make use of it for our benefit and security. The triple aspect of Luna is treated as paramount with examples of the effect of New Moon, Full Moon and Old Moon in the monthly round. There is also a new way of grasping the consequence of New and Full Moons according to their declinational hemisphere, and the difference between summer and winter moons. While all computational aspects of the Moon are covered (phases, cycles, moon mansions, progressed moons, magic squares etc.) along with the meaning of how these things affect us, it is the poetic side of Luna that equally informs our approach. A substantial part of the book also covers the Black Moon Lilith, (the Moon at apogee), with new insights into this lady of noire and her astrological resonance. From the fall of dew to the markings on a cheetah's eyes, there is more to the Moon than we know...
In western astrology we have grown accustomed to perceiving the Sun's path as circular: the years revolve and the days and months return again, the 360 degrees of the zodiac go round in a ring. But the Sun has an up and down path too. It climbs steps of declination from each equinox to solstice and descends again from solstice to equinox. It marks off time in a different way which gives an extraordinary view, and adds an extra breadth to the meaning and movement of the heavenly bodies. This comprehensive work not only covers the technique of declination, but it is full of the fascinating myths and traditions which form the cornerstone of our culture - it will therefore be of great interest to anyone who follows the natural rhythm of the solar and lunar festivals in the course of their everyday lives.
