First published in 1966, Australia and Nuclear Weapons argues for an Australian initiative to establish a non-nuclear club and region, to include Australia, New Zealand, and the Maphilindo countries. In doing so, the authors consider general problems of nuclear disarmament as well as the specific challenges facing the region. The case for regional approaches to nuclear disarmament had been neglected at the time, and this work fills a gap in the general literature on nuclear strategy.

This book consists of a single essay that speculates on the question what is housing?, and its opposite question, what is not housing? The essay is organised around two distinct discourses around which housing can be framed. The first, which is the dominant discourse, is what I term policy thinking. This is where housing is seen solely in terms of policy formulation and action. The second discourse is private dwelling, which describes housing in terms of a private space used by households. Private dwelling might be seen as a product of policy, but, in actuality, it precedes policy thinking in being the very purpose of policy. Having made this distinction between policy thinking and private dwelling, and so stated in principle what housing is, the subsequent sections of the essay explore the nature of private dwelling in more detail and so substantiate the distinction between the two forms of discourse.

Every toy that enters the toy shop, either to be mended or sold is given the power to move and talk to other toys. But the magic power only happens when children and adults are not around. The children that live in the village somehow know that that is true, without having any real proof. All the parents are convinced that it is the children spreading the rumours, until they experience strange happens with their children's toys. Many of the toys have their own story to tell, including dolls, robots and unicorns, as well as the children who own them and Nancy and Tom, the shop owners Michael's dad is determined the find out the truth about these magic powers and secretly sets up a video camera in his son's play room during the night, with the story ending with a surprising twist.
