A stunning illustration of the beloved song by folk singer and songwriter Peter Mayer. The wide universe is the ocean I travel and the earth is my blue boat home. We are all travelers on this earth, sailing through the cosmos together on the planet we all share. Blue Boat Home follows an adult and child reverently experiencing a beautiful day together in their community, both appreciating the here and now and looking outward and upward to the vast transcendent glory of the universe. With musician Peter Mayer’s striking and poetic lyrics and imaginative illustrations by artist Sue Todd, Blue Boat Home will foster wonder and care for our natural world in young readers and adults alike.

""An Idea Is Like A Bird: The Story Of Herbert Up High In The Sky"" by Peter Mayer is a children's book that tells the story of a young boy named Herbert who loves to draw and imagine. One day, while sitting on a hilltop, Herbert sees a bird flying high in the sky and is struck by the idea that he too can soar to great heights with his imagination. He begins to draw and create, letting his ideas take flight just like the bird he saw. As Herbert grows older, he continues to pursue his passion for art and creativity, eventually becoming a successful artist with his own gallery in the city. Through Herbert's story, the book encourages children to embrace their own ideas and dreams, and to never give up on their passions. The illustrations are colorful and whimsical, capturing the joy and wonder of Herbert's imagination. Overall, ""An Idea Is Like A Bird"" is a charming and inspiring tale that celebrates the power of creativity and the limitless possibilities of the human imagination. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. In India about 123,000 people take their own lives each year, the second highest total in the world. There is a suicide death in India almost every 4 minutes, and it is the leading cause of death for rural Indians especially women in early adulthood. This book presents a comprehensive analysis of suicide in India based on original research as well as existing studies, and looks at the issue in an international, sociological and historical context. The author looks at the reliability of suicide data in India, and goes on to discuss various factors relating to suicide, including age, gender, education and marriage. Among its findings, the book exposes a hidden youth suicide `crisis' in India which is argued to be far more serious than the better known crisis of farmer suicides. The book dispels many myths that are commonly associated with suicide, and highlights a neglected public health problem. Suicide in the region of Pondicherry is looked at in detail, as well as in the Indian Diaspora. This book is a useful contribution to South Asian Studies, as well as studies in Mental Health and Sociology.

International regimes have been a major focus of research in international relations for over a decade. Three schools of thought have shaped the discussion: realism, which treats power relations as its key variable; neoliberalism, which bases its analysis on constellations of interests; and cognitivism, which emphasizes knowledge dynamics, communication, and identities. Each school articulates distinct views on the origins, robustness, and consequences of international regimes. This book examines each of these contributions to the debate, taking stock of, and seeking to advance, one of the most dynamic research agendas in contemporary international relations. While the differences between realist, neoliberal and cognitivist arguments about regimes are acknowledged and explored, the authors argue that there is substantial scope for progress toward an inter-paradigmatic synthesis.

The current conflict which threatens the very existence of the inter national communist movement as a single coherent entity must be looked for in the roots of Marxian philosophy. The central concept of pre-Leninist communism is contained in the notion of "proletarian internationalism. " Yet the emergence of the communist party-states has been squarely predicated on the requirements of single national states, as viewed through the training and experience of the various communist leaders. Thus the Soviet version has been shaped by the nationalism of Lenin, Stalin, and Khrushchev. The only aberrant case, the internationalism of Trotsky, was doomed to failure. The Chinese version of "communism" has as its root concepts the spirit of "prolonged" struggle against a superior enemy, whose ultimate defeat is ensured through the dialectics of political growth. The non communist societies are by definition "decadent. " The movement came to power by exploiting the nationalism engendered within China by the Japanese invasion. Its mass support was based on the peasantry, although the transparent fiction of "proletarian leadership" was strictly maintained. Further, "communism" is a term which has lost its original encompassing definition. Peking now narrowly defines it as policies consonant with "the thought of Mao Tse-tung. " Thus both the Soviet and the Chinese interpretation of "commun ism" are based on a concept which was anathema to the intellectual founders of the movement.
